How was it?

The home release will probably be presented in 16:9, like the previous movie. In terms of Screen X, you're not missing a lot of you don't see it in that format. The side screens are suppose to be in your peripheral vision and the effects aren't as polished. Personally, I think IMAX > Screen X, since all the important information is always going to be on the center screen anyway.

@@wafflesforbrains9502 even still does that mean when Cameron brought his crew down to film their filming camera actually captured much wider and taller shots which were later cropper in the editing room? Well then how much of it is artistic choice and how much is theater screen constraint? This revelation is shattering my preconceptions.

​@@LightBrandThe imagery seen on the side screens wasn't shot for the movie and was not the way the director intended you to see the movie. A separate company converts the film to the screen x format. They artificially extend the frame using various post-production techniques. So no, you are not seeing cropped movies if you go to a regular showing.
