Basic science. The quarter tower was right infront of the gutter. The quarters will take the path of least resistance. When the gold tower blocked the gutter it could only go forward

So fun to watch the domino effect caused by the tower on the pusher. It would be a bit more challenging however if you didn’t make the quarters so thick at the edge in the front. Try making them only a single layer. Keep up the good work and creativity.
