Lt. Colonel Harry Stewart amassed one of the most distinguished records of any pilot with the 'Red Tails,' shooting down three German fighters in one day, and awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Every thing was against them. Yet they never let it beat them. The Tuskegee Airman are true examples of the American spirit.

Agree. Everyone today focusing on trivial stuff. Strip it all down, and none of it compares to every man, and woman, who voiced, and fought for this. Shortly after my love of aviation, i found the amazing history, strength, humanity, of the Tuskegee airmen. Well spoken on fact, not emotion. Todays kids have 0 idea, of the true hardship any of these men, and women went through...and they speak of real racial un-equality...simply, without hatred today. ( reminder of how far we REALLY have come) these guys went through an absolute SUCK!, and persevered... Todays kids slighted at anything that is "offensive.." And being more attitude, rather than fact based.

I had the honor and pleasure of meeting him about 10 years ago! I was working at a place in Royal Oak, Michigan. I saw his hat and asked if he was a Tuskegee Airman? He answered yes. I talked to him for about 10 minutes, hands down the greatest 10 minutes of my life. I shook his hand twice! He told me of his P-51 named Little Coquette and he'd shot down 3 Fw-190's. This man is a national tressure!

These men are so inspiring with the attitude they have now is IMO the same one they had back during the 40's of WW2. It is such an honor to be able to hear them speak about their early life and military life as well. Thank You for your Service and your Legacy that you have left.

Sir, God Bless you as a Brave hero answering your Nations call, despite it's imperfections and not allowing you the full rights of other citizens !! You did not let obstacles get in your way and you proved you were as good as, if not better, than anyone else no matter their race !!

Thank you sir. And to all men and women. I see an end to a memory and will carry on as respect but also for a generation that may never see such horrors. I teach my daughter and I ask the universe to guide her to teach others as well.

All of the courage and honor these men showed and proved daily during the war, flying in deaths view daily, and yet when they came home, they were again segregated. I will never understand this, what more could they have done to prove their worth? Mankind is not nearly as intelligent as we would like to think we are, so sad. Mere pigment of skin, nothing more.

I live in the UK. A few years ago (blimey 25 years actually) I had the privlege of having a dentist, who had volunteered from Trinidad, he ended up piloting a RAF B24! I fly, and had a PPL at the time. One time I was in the chair for an hour, and no dentistry occured, he was fascinating, and loved having an audience who understood. Another time I turned up, because I had smashed my four upper front teeth in a hang glider crash. I told him how I had stalled, and hit the hill, going down wind, and how, had I been six inches lower I would have hit a vertical face, and probably "got the chop". Hahahaha his reaction..."will you quit flying my boy"? My reply "No way" put a smile on his face. Muhamed Ali, AKA Cassius Clay won my total admiration when he refused to go to Vietnam. And then used the opportunity to speak the truth.

I listen to the accounts of these great patriots. I think about those who kneel when the national anthem is played and wish that they would take the time and most of all have inclinations to listen to these. Series of interviews.
