Happy solstice everyone hope you have a great solar Year.
This Year i spent 3 nights at Avebury for summer solstice. First night before the free campsite opened we wild camped near Silbury Hill. The next two nights at the free campsite national trust run for the summer solstice. Met great people along with the regulars i see almost every Year. Spent good amount of time at The Red Lion which is a pub inside the circle along with most of Avebury village which is another unique added over time feature to this Ancient circle or circles. Red Lion is a great place to spend time entertainment wise a lot people singing drinking having a fun time. For those that missed sunrise there was a good one this Year and seems been case for fair few Years in a row now. At the stone circle other than the sunrise is Kings Drummers for Entertainment always worth seeing.
The site is thought to be 1000s of Years old. Today The appearance of Avebury stone circle owes much to Alexander Keiller, heir to a fortune made from the famous Keiller marmalade, who bought the site and cleared away buildings and re-erected many stones in the late 1930s.

Loved watching this! Recognising many moments. Really enjoying binge watching the Avebury 2023 films by fellow youtubers, ones I didn't even know were camped right next to me (too preoccupied with my dog to film or socialise much this year so it's great to see what others made of their experience!). What a beauty it was ☀️❤

Great video Rich! Really good opportunity for me to catch up on the bits I missed there. I feel like my little speech to camera near the start there came out alright. It's weird, I've got hours and hours of footage of me talking to (my own) camera up here on KZfaq now, I thought I was comfortable with it, but somehow when somebody else points a camera at me it's different!
