How does this device compare to the Alientech Duo-2 and Duo-3 units? We are a small volunteer Fire Department with Heavy/Tactical Rescue units and EMS (BLS) units. We are also the lead organization in a multi jurisdiction Public Safety Consortium that provides Drone/UAS and EM-Comm Emergency Communications mobile command trailers. We have a combination of DJI Mavic-3 (original version), DJI Air-2s and one DJI Matrice M30t on the way. This is fairly typical of all of the Consortium members but most other departments are moving to the M30t and Mavic-3 Enterprise Series drones. (56 member agencies / approx. 220-250 total drone devices / nearly all controllers are RC-Plus and RC-Pro)

We were sent 6 Alientech Duo-2 units to evaluate for their soon to launch Public Safety / Government Market division. We had our Motorola radio tech install two of them for our department and they really have not dramatically improved our range performance. They just reached out to say the Duo-3 is significantly better and will be sending a few out for us to compare to the Duo-2. Most of our need for signal “boosting” is the very high RF noise levels (900Mhz / 1.0-6.0Ghz), the very dense foliage in the forest areas of our response area AND the need to have the ability to traverse the waterways and ocean in our primary area.

How well does your unit compare? What type of RF connectors are used on your equipment? We currently had our radio tech make up “remote cables” to permit mounting on a tripod or a telescopic antenna/lighting tower on our rescue apparatus. (50’ max tower height - we restrict to 10’ when using for antenna/signal booster). He used Amphenol QMA style RF connectors and made up 4 assemblies using mil-spec RG-400 (double shielded / silver plated wires / Teflon jacket) in 2 lengths. 4’ / 10’ / 20’. We aren’t sure if this is correct or best type of cable to use but it doesn’t seem to affect the performance either way. Thank you.

@@PowderMillforget the alientechs they are just better antennas. What you want is a NO Limit Dronez 2.5W booster Which actually increases the transmitting power which allows basically infinite ranges 1000 times better than the alientech
