The Rev had passed away about 4 years earlier and this was their first album that they wrote and recorded entirely without The Rev. The Rev was in their first 4 albums... after his death Mike Portnoy joined them as their drummer to make the nightmare album... the hail to the king album they had Arin Ilejay as their drummer... now with their newest album the stage, they have brookes wackerman as their drummer. Lead guitarist is synister gates, second guitarist is zacky vengeance. Bassist is Johnny Christ and as you know the lead singer is m.shadows.

The original Avenged Sevenfold was M Shadows Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengence, The Rev and the bass player is Matt Wendt. After Matt left, Johnny Chirst comes in. After the Rev Died Mike Portnoy did the drums to finish the songs that needed the final recordings done on the album Nightmare. Then Arin came in and didnt last very long.From 2015 til now is Brooks Wackerman on the drums.

A7X is my all time favorite band. Hands down! But, you should listen to Isolation By Alter Bridge

Idk how many people comment this, or even really know about it, but you mention not knowing what A7X's beliefs are, they identify as Libertarian, throughout their musical career, they've made it clear to fans that they believe there is a God, just that they dont believe in him. However their most recent album, The Stage (the whole album is great by the way), they have a song called Roman Skies, which is about Galileo Galilei being executed by the Roman church, for being the first to say that the universe doesn't circle around the sun. But that the earth orbits the sun. And the second song is "Exist" and it's pretty great musically, but it's more science driven..... Meanwhile they have 2 controversial titles in the same album called "Creating God" and "God Damn" but neither have to do with God, "Creating God" is literally warning of the dangers of Artificial Intelligence, and how if we dont check our convictions, we will be creating our future ruler. And the song "God Damn" is about the left pushing God out of the USA, that despite the fact that they dont believe in God, they recognize his importance in a nation. And probably most importantly, apparently the song "The Stage" is meant to be about how wars and conflicts are meant as a way to control us, and meanwhile there are people that are controlling the scene.. If you listen to that one, I suggest watching the official video, but having the lyrics on the side if possible. It is so much more effective when you see the puppets on screen, and the main one to be pulling the strings, turns out to be HILLARY CLINTON, they actually put her in there..
