"I don't know that everyone's going to love this album," Vengeance admitted, "in fact, I do know that everyone's not going to love this album and that's okay. Even if we tried to write an album with a "Hail to the King," a "Bat Country," a "Nightmare," an "Afterlife" and all of our hits and we smushed it all into this album and called it Nightmare Part Two, people still wouldn’t like it. There's no way to win everyone over, so who are you appealing to? Are you trying to write an album solely to get a pat on the back?" "The answer is no-you're writing the album based on everything you feel in your heart and your soul and all the experiences that led you there ... Nothing great exists until you're able to get outside of your comfort zone." - Loudwire interview with Zacky V.

For me it puts them in the same category as Gojira and Metallica. That being said, I loved it from start to finish and how the sound evolved and how every song subverted all my expectations. I began to ask myself the question, "What's next?" because I had no clue what to think anymore...but I think I'm gonna go back and listen to it all again and probably an indeterminate amount of more times afterwards. This song is very reminiscent of Chopin. It gives the listener the happiness and joy of what life can be with undertones of the inevitably of death that each and every one of us faces. This was masterfully done. The journey the playthrough of this album gives is rare in music. For it to end with an emotional piano instrumental was breathtaking.

If Chopin were alive today and gave this a listen, he would be incredibly proud of A7X - the style and tone of this track is practically a reflection of Chopin's material. I had no idea Synyster was such an incredible pianist, and it makes me hope we get to hear more solo pieces by him in the future.

From the bottom of my heart, not just as a fan, but from one songwriter to another, I truly Salute you, Sir. Synyster Gates.. The second song from A7X that sent me on a different plane or dimension, I don't know how you would describe it. But the first time it happened to me was from the Fiction song off nightmare.

after I listen to all songs now I must have to say that I appreciate this album so much, especially after 7 years of wait. after nobody and a lot of press speculations, I was open minded for what avenged would bring. I've been a sincere fan since 2010 and this band always made part of some most important moments of my life. for the bad and worst, and here I am writing this after 13 years of listening to you guys, most of them, listening to your songs on a daily basis. listening to all, all KZfaq videos and podcasts, having the chance to see them live once . Thank you for being here again on another moment of my life. I'll never forget the first time that I listen to this album! Is 6pm, sun is out, drinking some good beer, have good headphones in. Life's good! Thanks for this moment. On the first listen through, my favourites are Game Over, Nobody, We Love You, Cosmic and Ordinary. What songs do you like the most?

I think this new album is truly masterclass. Elements of all of their previous styles with a new fresh take. I think they stepped way outside of the parameters that people want to keep them in and right into their creative bag. After several listens (as with all of their works) I can safely say this is my favorite album they have ever put out. I think the REV is doing a hardcore SKA dance in his grave.

I listen to this track on my daily commute and my life turns into a totally different feel. I look out at the other people in their cars and think of their lives. I see the green trees and the color of the sky all around us that I keep forgetting is there. I realize that life is simply way too short for me to be doing things I dread and not fully expressing who I truly am. I just think there's no time for inauthenticity in my life. I ought to love the people I love with great passion and authenticity. I think I should be a better receiver (of compliments, help, etc). I think I should create more. Oh, so many beautiful things there are here on this earth...

The Stage: We exist. Why do we exist? For what purpose? There are too many things we don't understand about being alive, about the phenomena that surrounds us. Why does it have to be this way? Could things be changed? Do we serve a greater purpose, or there's just no point? I don't know for sure. I don't understand life. Life is but a dream: We will cease to exist. Why? How would it feel? Will it hurt? Is there a place for my soul to go? Will it be sad, will I find peace? Will I remind my existence, or whatever remains is oblivion? Is it there a second chance? But in the end, I'll die. And we don't know what happens next. That, if anything is supposed to happen at all. I don't know for sure. I don't understand death.

I am so undecided, really confused at this point ( I've now listened to each song from Life is but a dream). I've been a fan since.... Idk 8 years old , I'm now 25 😅 But this album has left me with many emotions, some of happiness and some of dissatisfaction. I think i became so used to a certain era of their music that this album in a way shocked me (so I guess really good job in keeping fans guessing and having suspense) ❤ Regardless, I absolutely LOVE you guys, will always stand true (I carry your death bat tattoo upon my back with pride, always).
