My thoughts exactly. This song’s style was completely unexpected. I wasn’t sure what to think upon my first listen but the more I listen to it the more I appreciate it. Great work as always from A7X! Their evolving sound is why they are one of my favorite bands! Also, the music video for the song is amazing!

This song is a major grower, I enjoy it more the more I listen to it. Anyway for me I greatly greatly appreciate A7Xs experimenting, would be easy for one of the biggest metal bands in the world to just put out super radio friendly material and continue to rake in the dough but they don’t give a shit about that, theyre gonna make whatever they want even if it’ll negatively impact their sales/radio potential. That earns my respect big time and I appreciate them as very much for always trying new shit album to album even if its gonna turn off some of their fanbase

"The Stage" was the most experimental album they have done. I think it's safe to say they are definitely leaning hard into the experimental for this next album. I can't wait!!! Also you definitely need to listen to The Stage album. I think you are going to love it haha

You’re right about half the fans shitting on it, and understandably, their first 2 albums was metalcore and had loads of screaming, their next 3 albums was toned down but they really hit their core sound then, their 6th was basically a classic metal sound, then on their 7th they did a complete 180 and went prog, so they’re no strangers to changing up their sound, but this was way out their box in comparison to their old stuff, definitely some elements of their last album, but this was even more experimental, you definitely gotta dive deep into their catalogue.

Avenged has never lacked the stones for this, lmao. As a long time fan, pieces of this do sound familiar, though. Their self-titled album had shades of ballsy experimental and odd combinations (Matt using autotune on the song Lost, Little Piece of Heaven being batshit, Dear God being a country song), City of Evil had a LOT of orchestra use (this one had that low brass that I'm pretty sure was trombones, plus all those strings) - Afterlife had those barbershop quarter type harmonies... It really feels like they're taking everything they dabbled in previously and the spacey, trancy vibe of The Stage and just smooshed it all together

If the self-titled was released nowadays the retarded part of the fanbase would be crying cause of the diversity of the album and how “strange” it feels when u compare with the previous, I guarantee. “Nobody” requires time. It’s a complex production with complex lyrics just as The Stage as a whole. Great song, great solo by Syn as always.

It was too pop, it was too strange, it wasn't metal enough, it wasn't heavy enough, all they write is radio friendly crap, little piece of heaven is too experimental blah blah blah - this is par for the course with just about every avenged album. The guys know people will panic no matter what 😂 this one is no different and I am here for it!

The prodution of this song, do remind of last album the Stage, with a twist of something new, also the intros repeatable riff gives me Black Sabbath vibes, Synysters guitar work got some hail to the king vibes, and the brass parts remind me of a little piece of heaven a bit.. This is a concept album, so i would think we get some diffrent moods in the story, and diffrent tempo in songs on the album.. Well i do like this one, and as being a part of the concept album, it could work very well for the album.. still im not sure if this is gonna stick in my headphones, i think i need to listen a few more times, for my final thoughts..

So glad you react to this song Avenged Sevenfold is always evolving every album has slightly changed over the years but the last album the stage was very experimental it looks like they're continuing with that which is perfect by me they never get too stale and they own whatever style they end up pulling off

Actually M Shadows got the idea to this song, after visiting a shamen, that made him inhale some stuff, and taking him into a so called Ego death experience, where it feels like you soul leaves your body, and you can obsterve your own human body from above, and at the same time not really feeling human.. The place at the end with the barcodes and stuff is like the promised land, everyone told you about, but it dosent really exist, lets take a example lets say that heaven is a promised land you was told is there, but maybe it isnt.. that way.. And the suicide note at the end, well you can wonder, did this man kill himself actually, or was it a Ego death experience..

Been listening to avenged sevenfold since city of evil was released and they've grown so much and it's nice to see them going in different directions and not stagnant after the heart breaking loss of the REV. What they are doing is pretty amazing but as a selfish fan I wish it didn't take 7 years lol

Heard this on Friday (now Monday) and it didn't really do it for me. This is my 2nd listen and I'm still not sure. Hoping it'll get better with more listens. It almost sounds like the vocals are recorded and played in slow motion to me. With that and the slower, steady beat, it feels like the song kinda drags a little. 'The Stage' (2016) did kinda head in this direction, with more electronic sounds. Though not quite as far as this if I recall.

One of the only songs I agree with everyone here that it actually gets better and better the more you listen. I think 7 years of fan expectations and band growth didn't quite line up on the first listen. Then you get it. This song when you're stoned is absolutely amazing!
