The message is pretty easy to explain. Calm start - The empty void Melodic shreddy shred - The Big Bang Thrashy aggression - The formation of the planets Peaceful break - The seas of Earth forming Flanged solo - The beginning of aquatic life that would evolve into every animal alive today Pink Floyd verse - Humanity born and evolving into sentience David Bowie chorus - Civilizations forming to the point where they can drive, then fly, then travel into space Neil deGrasse Tyson outro - Humanity realizing that they need to solve their conflicts and use the resources of the whole universe so that our race can continue to exist and thrive and evolve This song is all of history that ever was. The sounds you can't recognize are synthesizer played by Jason Freese, who plays keyboard and saxophone for Green Day. Jason's older brother Josh Freese was in The Vandals with Brooks Wackerman, which is how they got the recommendation. The producer for the album was Joe Barresi, who produced Bad Religion's albums Brooks was on as well as stuff by Nine Inch Nails and Tool. When Brooks joined as drummer, the band gained a ton of connections from him being involved in practically every modern rock music scene. This song is already considered a masterpiece by most A7X fans and definitely will be in the 15-20 years you mentioned. It's pure art.

The importance of the exploration of the cosmos is not only to defend ourselves from outward threats. The earth has an expiration date and if we wish to continue our species’ development we will have to leave earth some day.

About the final speech of the song: Its obvious that it doesnt cover each person, as there are those who fight for a more just world and continue to explore (the astrophysicist himself does it and I do not think he contradicts himself). He has related in a few lines how society has evolved throughout the history and how we live in a "bubble" so to speak. It is a very brief summary of everything that is talked about on the album, which is very interesting. In the song "The Stage" it was a criticism of society also saying that we have not seen our past, we are "blinded" by making the same mistakes that we have already made before. So to speak, he refers to the fact that we believe we are the center of the universe and we manipulate each other, while when he observes the sky he only sees something huge and growing, unattached, something free (that transmits to me). When he says exploration, he refers to advancing as a species and one could even think of the search for another planet. As someone has said in comments, this song narrates from the big bang to today's world. The part where Matt and Syn sing talk about humans and their dreams and thoughts, and the final speech would be the reflection of where we must look as a species to move forward . These speeches are clearly generalist and you don't have to feel alluded to. Leave a nice and thoughtful message for me.

I see what you're saying. I definitely understood where he was coming from and the purpose of his words in the song. It was a first for me, hearing spoken word of that sort on one of their tracks. Thank you for the information and breakdown!

@@elantepicard6073 Johnny mentioned it in a recent Drinks with Johnny Q&A. If I remember correctly, Black Reign was on the Warner label to settle the lawsuit. It's possible the band will have access to some producers they enjoyed working with again like Mike Elizondo.

I'm super proud of you for encouraging people to click the original upload. A7X really should get the support for making the music, and a lot of people don't think about it out of convenience. It's always bothered me, too.

YESSS finally got to Exist!! 1) this song is actually meant to be a musical depiction of the big bang, and the voice speaking at the end is Neil DeGrasse Tyson, a famous physicist... 2) Fermi Paradox has to be next, one of their best songs and the best guitar work you'll ever hear... Sunny Disposition is something you'll love too

Forgot to mention this song is about the creation of the universe. First The Big Bang, chaotic. Then the calm, which is the slow part. And finally the vocals, which symbolizes humanity

As Matt once said "this album is a grower". Many people (myself included) did not start out liking or attracting this album a lot because in many ways it sounds different from the previous one (think that I love from A7x) . Over time I see that the general opinion of the fans has changed and mine too, considering this song and this album as one of their best. The choruses of this song grow in you, they are simple but when you know the story of the song it gives it much more emotion. This happens with most songs, listening to it once is difficult to grasp everything. Very good video!

The song represents evolution and the creation of the universe, the beginning of the song where it’s just instrumentals, it’s supposed to be the Big Bang and stuff, and when the lyrics come in, that’s where humanity starts. But that’s why it’s chaos at the beginning

There is also a fan made video for this song which is very good and helps visualize the creation and existence of the universe. When Neil speaks about humans I think of two sides, one side where we are smart and achieve fantastic things and another side where the world population growth feels like bacteria with exponential growth and never ending appetite for resources, which might set the whole world on fire in the future. Hopefully we will save the earth for our generations and future generations. This song feels iconic to me like Metallicas "Orion" or similar.

I wouldn't think you know who I'm on about, but this song has a prog-rock feeling. Played like Wishbone Ash, only heavier. The fist part of the journy, was like the kind of ride that Boston would take me on with their "spacey" music. And yet the earlir wild guitaring is like Malmstein, or Satriami perhaps. But no moatter how many name are thrown in here, we still have A7X at the heart. No doubt this is a sci-fi song thru and thru. A German band called Eloy, were a prog outfit, (total stoners too) and most of their lyiics were very thought provoking, and often about where are we as a species are headed. One particular album "Time To Turn" is a prime example that could have easily influenced song like this that address the "what if" factor of human intervention on messing with things that should be left alone. Oppppps.. I've prattled on too long again. Sorry

Knowing the band's influences, Malmsteen and Satriani were definitely influences on that part. Syn loves them. Boston is a possibility. Megadeth, Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, Gustav Holst, and Muse were absolutes here. Matt has said a bunch that the chorus was definitely inspired by David Bowie's Space Oddity, which is why the vocals were panned in the exact same way. The drumming is very much an eclectic mix of punk and jazz drumming with thrash blast beat patterns. I can't tell where Brooks was inspired. This song goes through at least a dozen genres, but I suppose it can best be described as just progressive rock.

@@chrismeadows4216 Thanks for that. I don't know the band ay all. Only a few song that have been reacted to on this channel. When I tried to see into the music , I did it with eyes closed, and allowed the sounds to bring visions in my mind. So now that you've given an educated glimpse into the bands "heroes", that's going to be helpful for future listening for me. Thanks again .

@@grahamnash9794 If I had to throw out some pretty regular influences for Avenged Sevenfold, they would be these: Metallica Iron Maiden Guns N' Roses Megadeth Dream Theater Pantera NOFX Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Dillinger Escape Plan, Tomahawk) Steve Vai In Flames Elton John Black Sabbath Pennywise Led Zeppelin Bad Religion Their songs add different influences on the fly, but these are the main ones that the whole band loves. Mostly mainstream taste, which explains why their music is generally full of hooks.

What happens is that avenged sevenfold has reuploaded many of their songs, hence they have so few visits. I think that exists has been reuploaded this year, when the album is from 2016. That is why a video of someone else's song has many more visits. If you look on Spotify, this song has roughly 7 million plays (being a 15 minutes song). This happens with many of their songs but on KZfaq.
