5 years after Thanos' snap, Hulk and Rocket come to visit Thor. Only as soon as the Hulk utters Thanos' name, Thor can't help but remember his brother's death.Thor has lost everything: his mother, his father, his best friends (Volstag, Frandral, Hogun and Heimdall), his kingdom Asgard, the only person in his family, his brother Loki, his reputation, his dignity.

I believe what is killing Thor inside is that he failed to kill Thanos before he could use the guantlet. The loss of his brother is devastating, but his own failure is too much to bear.

Indeed. He lost everything, his father, brother, hammer, home world, and half his people. He believed that he was only alive because he was destined to kill Thanos and that fate willed it so. And when he does kill thanos and it solves nothing he is truly lost and has given up on destiny and purpose.

I don’t think it’s his failure I think that is he blames himself for not being strong enough to defeat thanks in order to save his brother and others so his failure in his eyes costed a great deal of lives and that tore him apart as he realized there was nothing he could do but deal with the constant agony of always being a failure to his brother and his father watching over him

i dont think it was exactly just loki, i think its because at the end of infinity war he throws the axe at his chest and if he aimed for the head, thanos would've died and no one wouldve died. So thor blames himself, i dont think hes thinking of loki, just blaming himself

I agree. They could do a flashback montage of Loki's neck being snapped together with not going for the head and then people being dusted. But this is probably not an interpretation of the scene and just their headcanon or their way of mourning.

Neither have to target his head nor the chest. Thor have to targeted his arm. Because this glove is for left hand only. even if he hit him in the head, his hand could snap his finger for a second. I guess the Russo brothers didn't think about this detail 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The thing with the timeline is, when everyone's first entry into the timeline they are alive when going forward @ entry into the future they can be surrounded by enemies [maybe needs to be loki by Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes]. Reason is if going backwards you can introduce individuals to time-traveling so they get life going forward; only thing is some goes forward and sit on individuals [wait on individuals to destroy so you are going to need the negative-zone to separate and pull away]. Keep lock hold focus on where the negative-zone[wherever it may be] will be when you pull life away from the negative-zone when you travel forward to a peaceful life.

Thor has lost everything: his mother, his father, his best friends (Volstag, Frandral, Hogun and Heimdall), his kingdom Asgard, the only person in his family, his brother Loki, his reputation, his dignity. Even though at the beginning of Avengers: Endgame Thor beheads Thanos, Thor did not feel victorious, but furious because Thanos' actions are irreversible, there is Thor's revenge for his brother. But it won't bring him back. As a reminder, Loki died long before the Mad Titan snapped his fingers.

When Thor killed Thanos it was when he was on his knees. Helpless. Chained. With grudges and resentment. When Thanos was having a heart to heart. It's about as unviking as you can get. Thor betrayed his ideals. It broke him.

It wasn't how he killed Thanos that broke him. Killing him was actually the first step in his breaking, acknowledgement that his failure was complete. Half the universe had died and in his mind, it was his fault, and there was no turning it back. Up to that point they were in denial. Taking Thanos' head was anger. Five years later he's wallowing in depression.
