Thanos is so chill in Infinity War he just wants to complete his mission he bears no ill will towards his opponents unlike in Endgame.

The Amount of Respect Thanos has for Tony makes me like him more. He's a villain, but he's not like Green Goblin or Venom. One of my favorite Villains

1:59 is the moment Thanos actually lost. Not Killing Tony was the biggest mistake he made. This is the exact moment Dr.Strange outsmarted Thanos. Kind of crazy when you think about it.

Tony being a human who used his intellect to build a suit capable of going against thanos with a NEARLY full gauntlet is just insane. He really is Earth’s best defender, as cap said.

Four years later and I still cannot get over how fucking amazing Thanos is as a villain. Considering his more one dimensional reasons in the comics it was very risky and very rewarding to see Thanos as a self proclaimed Messiah. Holding Tony’s head gently, Showing his respect, reassuring him and complimenting him, then using the full power of the gauntlet to quickly and painlessly kill him. Thanos was just a perfect villain. I really hope he will go on to be a villain like Darth vader who wont be forgotten in the onscurity that is marvel movies. He really is too good to just be another villain

The most amazing thing is that, Tony continues fighting even after his armor is damaged and only half of the suit remains. He's determined to keep fighting, because if he fails, what he did in 2012 and later on with his comrades, is all for nothing. Tony isn't very selfish at all like many people comment on him being.

What I really love about this scene is that when Thanos says that he hopes half of humanity will remember Tony is that it's not out of hate or anything. It's genuine respect from Thanos towards Tony for the fight he put up. Same goes for the "When I'm done half of humanity will still be alive" line. It's not a way to go and taunt Tony but to reassure him that not everyone will die. That's what makes Thanos such an amazing villain in this movie. He's not doing anything out of hate but because he genuinely believes he's doing good by the universe.

Man, Thanos was really just about to end a man’s life with 4 fucking infinity stones.

And out of all the avengers, Thanos only mentioned Iron Man's real name, as if he respected him the most. Fantastic.

Imagine this from Tony's perspective. He's been dealing with PTSD ever since the battle of New York, knowing that something BIG is coming, and it's here. Thanos is literally Tony's fear made flesh and HE KNOWS HIS NAME.

I love how thanos actually fully intends to kill Tony. Some way somehow he just knows Tony is his biggest threat and if strange wasn’t going to give up the stone he would’ve just wasted Tony right then and there. Smart of thanos to think ahead, even if he isn’t to actually go for the kill on every avenger its the right move strategically when Tony is one of the only people who can actually oppose Thanos. I also love how Tony says “don’t” to strange, he was already willing to make the sacrifice play right here but strange knew it wasn’t the right time.

Crazy how much changes Stark made to the suit over the years. He went from the suit in a cave with scraps to this awesome suit.

I actually finally got the "cursed with knowledge" line from Thanos. Thanos isn't talking about Tony being a genius, he's talking about Tony's vision of *him* in Age of Ultron- Tony was "Cursed" with the knowledge that something *awful* was coming for Earth, and trying to prepare for it. Cursed to see the oncoming disaster and be unable to rally enough behind him to prevent it. Just like Thanos sees himself- he wasn't able to convince his people to do terrible things to survive their own self-induced ecological collapse, just like Tony wasn't able to get the Avengers to remain United *knowing* that something worse was on its way.

I love how, the second after he stabs him through the torso, thanos' whole demeanor toward tony changes, their fight is over, tony's been dealt a death blow, and thanos just walks him backwards to a place to sit down, and gives him a few words of respect and comfort before he's gonna put him out of his pain (its just cheapened slightly by the fact that being impaled is easy to come back from cause its a Disney/marvel movie)

I really like how Thanos has his own complex personality that's not evil at all, it's just its own perspective and set of moral ideologies. He has respect, wisdom, love, all of it, and he cares for the universe in the way he thinks is best. He's only evil in our eyes because we don't share the same viewpoint and we consider his to be murderous. He sees generosity and hope were we see annihilation. There's isn't a right or wrong, it's just difference in outlook. We aren't evil just as he isn't. He doesn't consider death murder, he considers it prosperity for those who live, giving them a life worth living. We consider all life precious even if the collective don't live as well as the few might, and that's just how it is. He isn't an evil dick in this, he's philosophical and maybe a bit misguided and focused on the wrong thing, but his intentions aren't cruel. In Endgame he looses all of his depth despite having the same amount of lines (as few as they are) and he just becomes a cruel dick who we hate. I don't like that at all. Sure it was to make him really seem like the enemy and give us great conviction to root for our heroes, but it really took away from the story in my opinion. Everyone loves Endgame causes its a grand climax and everyone fights together, Tony makes rhe sacrifices, Cap lives and loves, and it's all wrapped up with a giant bow, but the story in Infinity War is one of the best I've ever seen and it will always be the superior film by far in my humble opinion. But again, just as I'm not evil for liking this over Endgame, someone who prefers Endgame isn't evil. We just differ in opinion. We see the same things and interpret them differently. Such is life. That's the beauty of this film and a true representation of the human condition and morality as a whole. I love that notion and again that's why Thanos is the perfect villain in this. He's like what Ultron thought he was, and in Endgame he was actually like Ultron. Ultron began the difference kf humanities idea and Thanos perfected it. Great film :)

Thanos knowing Tony took us all by surprise. We thought Thanos was aware of the Earth situation but not really taking any interest other than Loki's failure, but Thanos apparently studied the events very diligently. What a badass villain

Lets just admire that Tony fucking Stark made THANOS bleed when no one else couldnt. And he’s PHYSICALLY just a regular human being. The tech he’s built is absolutely outstanding. (Yes ik Peter Quill is just a regular human too, without his MCU powers, but its Tony Stark. Come on now)

Strange already knew that Tony was the only one that could finish it. He checked later to verify but he knew all along.

You can tell how far Tony has come combat wise from the start where barely knew what to do to here. He actually held his own against a Titan

Something I feel like a lot of ppl missed is how thanos was gonna actually go out of his way to kill Tony. All the the avengers/guardians he kinda just threw out of the way but never tried to fully kill them. I think this is bc he knows how much of a threat Tony is to his plans I mean the dude nuked his entire army in the first avengers film so that’s probably still in the back of thanos’s mind.
