Great job on video, no dumb music and actually open stuff up. And although it's an 'cheaper" cat, the layout uses common sense and is super fuctional and does a fantastic job with the use of space. Better than some bigger ones..

Agreed, there is a world of difference in meaning between "cheap" and "least expensive." Cheap can mean multiple things beside less expensive, as I'm sure you also thinking about poor quality. The term "less expensive" can on mean one thing.

Loved this thanks. A tip to avoid what 99% of people, especially yacht sellers do. AVOID closeups like the plague. The viewer isnt you and theyre probably not focused on the thing your mind is. And zoomed in videos/pictures dont show context. Most of this was very good from a photographic perspective but the closeups were awful. Yacht brokers taking 100 closeup pictures cost them a fortune in lost sales

Where are the deck hatches!? That boat will be a sweat box in any kind of heat. I get building to a price, but that seems to be a serious oversight. Maybe it's an option? I just asked for a price list with options to see if they offer them. Otherwise it looks pretty amazing for the price, or for a great deal more. And it's not actually a 37, but about 35' 5", so wondering about the naming convention as well as how did they get all that in such a short boat? I chartered a Seawind 1000XL, at almost the same length and beam and this has FAR more room! I just don't think most people need a 45 footer for coastal cruising, so glad to see some new offerings in this length and at a cheaper price. Nice camaera work, BTW. So many video tours are done too quickly, and/or are jerky. Yours is slow enough and smooth.

Can't say I'm a fan of how the helm station and the winch station are separated like that. Makes it far more difficult to single-hand. It suggests that this is more designed for coastal cruising than any offshore work.

All cats hobby horse. There's an analysis out there using math to compare wave form to boat length. Moving weight to the center lessens the effect.
@markmontgomery94429 ай бұрын
Hobby horsing is something that monohaulers love to point out, but guarantied at anchorage on a cat is calm relaxing and a monohull is rocking back and forth 30 degrees each way all night, hobby horsing might not seem so bad

That sounds good and only sounds good. If a 4000 container ship to be fully unloaded say 3 cranes and 5 minutes per transfer it would take 110 hours to unload that's 4.5 days. You then spend the same time to reload. If a train hauled 60 cars and each carried two containers that 120 per train. That 35 trains. If it took a day to cross. You are looking at 10 days. That just won't work.

So here's my question... I am seriously thinking about buying this boat, I am 42 I have a lot to learn about sailing... And I have enough money just for the boat (300k-ish). Does the boat come with sails, and bumpers, and all the things to make it seaworthy? Also, it seems like they are built in Tunisia but can I have it delivered to Hawaii? Are there places to buy one on the west coast of the US? Thanks So much for your info :). I have a lot to learn, but it seems like a better life than healthcare...
@ke2delight10 ай бұрын
Take your time to learn to sail first. Go on a few trips and figure out if your expectations match the reality of sailing. For most people it turns out to be completely different experience than what they’ve expected. Insure yourself you don’t have any regrets prior to blowing $300K.
@philv394110 ай бұрын
the boat comes with the minimum pack of sails, minimum electronic, a survival raft boat, and the less powerful engines. With that, you are good to go, people have crossed oceans with much much less. It's safe enough, tough enough. You won't be at your max without Spinaker and so on, but you can buy them later. The problem is more your ability to sail : courses are not expensive, try a first a 5 hundred bucks 5 day course of sailing to see, you can fall in love or be disgusted. if you love it, you will learn really quickly.
@charlesreid93379 ай бұрын
No. Dont do this. Buy a used cat. You'll end up "house poor" as in "i have a beautiful house but live on rice and beans ". Just putting it into a slip will cost $100 - 200 a day. IF you rent a slip monthly or yearly youre talking Probably 800 to $2000 a month. Probably Hella more in hawaii if you can even find a slip. Maintenance a few thousand a year. If you want to leave the harbor for more than a couple days you'll need to equip it.. sails, watermaker, anchor upgrade, electronics etc. Basically it will eat you alive unless you have a nice income coming in. You could probably afford to do this if you have 60k a year coming in and no other substantial bills. I love this cat's ergonomics but you can buy something used that is similar for half what it costs and have the 150-200 k left to outfit it and invest the rest.
@markmontgomery94429 ай бұрын
I'm seriously in the market, you can't find a decent used cat around 40 feet for under 375k.

That would be perfect for Great Lakes Cruising. Unless you are one of those stuck up, pretencience people. Sadly, nothing will ever be good enough for them! I would probably take the roof day bed off, and go solar. Don't know why people don't put a couple wind generators on their boats. Afterall, it is powered by the wind! One on each spreader! Not sure this boat has spreaders or a back stay. I guess Cats are a bit different than a monohull.
