I wanted this guy from the moment I saw his design, but I must say - after getting to know his kit and lore...he truly became a MUST PULL. Not only great writing, but also a really versatile and FUN kit, which is not to be underestimated as with all due respect to Fu Xuan and Luocha..they are pretty boring to play. I think Aventurine is S+ sustain, Luocha is good, but he is gonna become more of a Blade specialist or a comfort unit. AS for HuoHuo...I think its easier to replace her than to replace Aventurine, so I vote for Aventurine.

Aventurines shield on is E skill is stronger than Gepards ultimate shield to put it into perspective. Not to mention, his follow-up attack also deals great damage (for a sustain) and does a lot of break damage. Also, all characters in the part gets 50% eff res when his shield is applied, aventurine also has the same CC invuln as Fu Xuan. SO, if you have your supports on broken keel, that's 80% effect res.

I have Luocha, Fu Xuan and Huohuo, but I’m still pulling Aventurine😤 Loved him since day one while everyone else hated him

The problem with Fu Xuan is when we get a future boss that do BIG AOE DMG she will get one shotted no doubt

Also worth noticing that this trials aventurine build is kinda bad, he has a bit over 3300 def, which you can get that with 4 star relics. You should aim for AT LEAST 4k def on him (with 5 star relics thats not hard) for maximum trace 1 value (48% crit rate self buff), and with that additional 700 defence his shield will be much higher too.

Dr. Ratio,Ruan Mei,Topaz and Aventurine is my dream team RN. I was gonna get him cause he is both my favorite element and path but the fact that he is that good makes it even better for me.

Playing Acheron was a ton of fun but Aventurine made me see the chance to get the highest floors of SU and the other modes easily knocked out. I dont have Fu Xuan or Gepard so I'm looking at Aventurine like a starving man looking at a meal

I felt very similar when I got to try out Aventurine during the story. I could use some more Follow-up units, some built up, but I'm definitely pulling for him after experiencing his kit during his POV of the story

Acheron is flashy and thats why she got the hype behind her but after the 2.1 quest I think more people are gonna be pulling for him

I thought I needed to get Acheron but now I’m sure that I want him. I wanted him but wasn’t sure if he was any good. Now I know that I’m saving my guaranteed 50/50 for this boi!!

I was already planning to summon on Aventurine before playing him in story, but after playing him in the story, I REALLY want him, he completes my FUA team of Topaz (Maybe swapped out soon, IYKYK) , Clara, Aventurine and Sparkle to buff Clara. His sustain is crazy and he could probably solo sustain most content if built correctly.

My final decision on pulling for Aventurine over Luocha is future investment: Luocha's lightcone and Eidolons are horrible, while Aventurine's are insane, so if he gets a rerun(or I'll get lucky) I can vertical invest into him and make him a lot better than Luocha.

He would be cracked in pf moc simulated universe preservation run. I will enjoy the Sim run with preservation. Just the better char than Fu.

If HP drops below 50% and you can't get it back it's not S or S+ sustain (and it's not even hard content with 2 bosses). You need to push E every turn or you will be like Ratio on 1st turn with low hp? Well other sustains don't force you to push E every turn. It's seems like A tier (And it's follow-up team which boost his shield lol)

I'm actually considering pulling for him cause of the story...

Do you think with the added value of follow up attacks for his stacks, that a double DPS with Ratio/Topaz/Clara with a Harmony and him would work well or be overkill?

Yea I started playing in like November so I only have houhou and lynx so aventurine is looking like a must pull for me, I’d much rather have him than fu Xuan since I think follow up attack units are the most fun in the game 🙂

I have zero sustain 5 stars. Definitely gonna try to pick him up

literally me after 2.1 mission. his design, attack animation, idle animation is so that satisfying and his kit feels so powerful and actually is indirect buff for LC and unit with damage-taken-phobia.

as someone who has been using fu xuan since she was added to the game: i think aventurine will be better in some teams, and he is definitely the new best character for the preservation path in the SU, so yeah i think he's great even if you have fu xuan as for what you said about him being S+ tier: i would agree for sure... there's just no way he's not going to be S+ tier with a huge shield on his skill and the fact that he starts the battle with a shield basically fixes most problems i have with shielders (getting hit before the shield can be applied) EDIT: opinions that nobody asked for: fu xuan is likely to remain the best sustain character *overall* but i think aventurine will be great too and maybe even on the same level if you already have fu xuan and you're a meta player then i would probably wait for someone like robin or sam since both characters are fairly likely to be completely cracked this might change in the future and maybe aventurine turns out to be the best sustain character in the game when he's out

I also like that his synergy with topaz is perfect, and that he covers her aoe weakness while both help each other follow up more. Very neat. There’s a couple other upcoming characters that are mandatory for me though, so time to save again 👀

Am one of the few with a topaz and really looking forward to Aventurine. Been Running a team of Clara, Lynx, Ying Juan and Topaz so switch Lynx with Aventuringe gonna be wild :P

I have Luocha, HuoHuo, Fu Xuan, E2 Gallagher, E6 Lynx, E2 Gepard. I’m still pulling this man. After this though the next sustain is gonna have to do something absolutely insane because I’d have all I need at that point.

I'll try to pull him too. I'm in the same spot since I pulled Acheron. But with him and Fu Xuan we don't need anything else.

My man Jing Yuan still getting indirect buffs literally every patch 🎉 and when I saw the synergy with Yanqing I was really happy because I love Luofu characters and him getting another buff was my next thought after Jing Yuan. Very excited for Aven and unironically glad to have a use for the crit dmg/rate def pieces I have since he does a decent chunk of dmg himself it seems. They continue to make units that actually are dynamic depending on your account and what you value or need. Wishing the best for your future pulls.

He is better than fu xuan imo. He is better in most content including pure fiction, planet disaster and gold and gears and he is even good in moc if your team has enough crit rate which most have. Having an infinite shield is way better than just reducing dmg especially in su were you can even get 200k shields if you want to and prevent getting 1 shotted which is something that fu xuan can't do

I was actually so scared that I wasn't gonna be able to get him, but after getting e2s1 acheron I actually managed to lose a 50/50, so I have a guarantee for my GOAT. Got the trends LC ready for him too and I'm gonna have way more than enough pulls to get him on release

I had so much fun pairing him with Topaz and Ratio. I was already going to wish for him due to having them and their synergy with him. But after the story I am even more pumped!

Lol, I was the same way. First time I saw this guy I was like "easy skip", but after using him in the story mode, I was like, "ooohhh, this guy is pretty cool!". I love his animations!

There's a few problems I can see with Aventurine: - Shields are tied to ally turns. Going to be really bad uptime for characters that move fast or forward themselves, like Seele or E2 DHIL. - The shields are decent, but as you saw Dr. Ratio still got freaking chunked. There's no way to restore that HP either, unlike Fu who can muscle through with her ult healing. - His FUA damage doesn't actually seem that high. The trial Aventurine we get has some pretty chunky crit stats and the FUAs are only doing like 10k. Spending resin for slightly higher team contribution on a sustain just isn't very efficient. - The ult is a single target Crit DMG debuff, whereas Fu Xuan just buffs all ally's crit rate so they can hit anything with that buff. Fu would be better in AoE - 50% Eff. Res sounds good until you realize a boss like Kafka has 120% hit chance on her Dominate CC, so 50% effect res will bring that down to 60% chance to Dominate, which is still a huge gamble compared to Fu Xuan's outright "block 1 CC" or the cleansing on Huohuo/Luocha. Effect Res is a problematic and unreliable stat in general, until you hit 100% Eff. Res the enemy will always have a small chance to CC your units. Aventurine seems pretty strong, definitely better than Gepard and his damage utility is higher than Luocha's, but I'd definitely put him a tier lower than Fu and Huohuo based on what we've seen so far.

Nuts? Maybe his build was absolutely terrible in the story parts but he wasn't even remotely close to being crazy good.

Only been playing since Feb 24. I NEED Luocha and I WILL get Aventurine. Thinking Aventurine, Bronya, Clara and Herta. Could be fun.

next patch would be a FUA patch since robin can also buff FUA,ill probably use this team comp for FUA(himeko,herta,aventurine and robin)

I like the idea of aventurine. Wanted e1 of fx for the crit damage buff, but his crit damage buff + debuffing for Acheron sounds great.
