Hi Louis. Grate video, fun and informative.I'm little bit surprised that DC small headsets you found to noisy. I used to fly with them for few years and was bit satisfied. I have also Zulu 3 and A-20, and yes they are better as far as quietness but not much. Using them in my SR20 by occasional rotation in order. As you said, we are all different in many aspects. Thanks.

Great comparison. I vote for the Clarity Aloft as the winner. Great sound/noise canc. I've been around airplanes for too long, so I now need in ear hearing aids. Sticking foam into my ears is not a problem. The Bose is my #2. Pricey, but great quality.

Great, informative video. As a pilot who's been absent from flying for a few too many decades, I've got my Special Issuance 3rd Class "in progress." If all goes well, I'll be shopping for a headset in the next few months. Had a chance to try the A20's in a friends 172 and they were comfortable, and the ANR worked great, that being said they're also $1095. Recently I was able to put a pair of the DC One-X on my head, and they were very comfy and "only" $895. I live in the Phoenix area, there's just nowhere where I can don different headsets to determine what feels best on my head.

Been using earbuds on my motorcycles for over twenty years; silicone is the way. Maybe a tiny bit less attenuation, but no fiddling or cross embedded earwax.

I can hear the engine more in the DC. I’m glad I have the A20s

The Bose DO sound "tin canny", compared to the One-X's. However, the One-X's appear to have a "hot" mic. Lots of popping on your P's, and high-freq hisses on your S's. Is the mic gain adjustable? The One-X's sound more natural in overall voice tone and they sound warmer. I tend to give more weight to how my audio sounds on the receiving end. I'll be buying the One-X's. I have a different brand of in ear headset. They sound great except when I move my jaw or like yawn it affects and alters the pitch I hear such that it sounds like the engine RPM is suddenly surging. This is very disconcerting as the pilot. Did you not notice this at all on your Clarity Alofts?

I love my bose but their mic is just too treble heavy i think.. when i record videos with it, i tend to adjust the sound to diminish treble. Just my 2c. Great video!! Thank you!
