Many people will put three toothpicks into the seed in such a way that it will sit on top of a drinking glass. You put water in the glass so that the seed is in the water. You sit this in a window most often above the kitchen sink. Just keep the water up to the seed and over time it will grow a root and a tree . After it gets about a foot tall, plant it somewhere near water. It's worth the try.

Avocado is VERY good for you..Put a tiny bit of salt on it and just scoop it out of the shell...You could grow an avocado tree using both pits...put a toothpick (3) in each pit, place it in a glass of water that touches the pit. The pit will start opening and a plant will start. Plant both of those pits/seeds in a pot with dirt. Keep moist and you just might have an avocado tree you started! I'm eating avocado right now with some onions, carrot slices, basil leaves and a cut up boiled egg. Top it with Olive Oils, some salt/pepper. It's delicious...If you don't eat the whole avocado, rub a tiny bit of lemon on the green avocado and it won't turn brown...Avocado's are very good for kids with all of the nutrients in it but don't give to someone that has an upset stomach...Avocado sliced with sliced banana's is delicious!

The pit can be boiled. After it is boiled, remove the pit and it makes a very nice tea. Interestingly, the tea becomes a red color and some people use it for a natural dye.

Avocado is considered to be a SUPERfood! If your environmental conditions are suitable, you should try to grow it. A single tree can produce hundreds of avocados. It is especially delicious in Guacomole. Avocado is sometimes called 'Alligator Pear' because of the texture of its skin.

Take the pits home, grow them, each one will become a huge tree. Do not cut the skin off them. Doing that will stop them from growing. Just find out how to go bout it. Fruit is usually not peeled with a knife, just turn out the skin.

I keep forgetting avocado is a fruit because it’s not sweet, but usually it goes on toast in the morning, not eaten as is like normal fruits are (: or to make guacamole, and it’s a great egg replacer! but why is it not grown there, that’s weird, you have similar environments and temperatures, and it’s at the same latitude as northern mexico (or central mexico if southern pakistan)! but do NOT peel off the skin because then it can’t grow! but glad they enjoyed though! good healthy food, superfood even!(:

You can cover the pit half way with water and put it in a sunny window and it will sprout leaves and roots . If your climate is warm enough , you can plant it and it will grow into an avocado tree .
@Only-me-baby-tf9km28 күн бұрын
@@rodneysisco6364 yes and if you're lucky you might get fruit within 10 years. Lol. But it's great once the tree starts giving.
@PhantomQueenOne28 күн бұрын
That seed might not grow the same fruit however. The root stock is used to grow the 'good' fruit from cuttings. Apples and citrus fruit often have this done to them.
@Only-me-baby-tf9km28 күн бұрын
@@PhantomQueenOne no there's a technique. Once the plant grows from the seed about 12 inches of so you have to cut the tip down or off. So all there is is stem. I think once the leaves regrow is when you can put it in the ground. I remember my mom putting a nail into the trunk after transplanting it. I think it's normal for a tree not to produce fruit for years until it matures but once it starts it's on! My mom had a few trees in her yard that finally started producing fruit. Sadly she passed away. The tree was huge too. She started them off from a seed too.

@PhantomQueenOne28 күн бұрын
The seeds might not yield the same fruit, they normally graft the branches from the fruit they want onto hardy avocado trees that might not yield a tasty fruit, but is otherwise a very nice tree. Avocados can grow in Pakistan, but only _some_ parts, as they have very strict growing conditions. They also don't ripen on the tree. They have to be harvested before they start to ripen.

My wife and I enjoy avocado toast with 2 over medium eggs for breakfast. We also have it with our tacos. One thing weird. Not all avocado have big pits. It's believed the indigenous peoples selectively bred avocados to have huge pits. The exact reasoning is unknown but it's not likely for flavor. Small pit avocados do exist.

You can try to germinate the seed by placing the root half in water (using wire or toothpicks). It takes quite a while for the stem/trunk end to extend up from the other side. There's a time lapse of the process on KZfaq. Whether the plant would ultimately fruit or not, I do not know. Might need both male and female plants and the right pollinators (or hand pollination) to end up with fruit. Or it might go on its own. If you're putting in the time and effort, it would be worth a little research to find the proper methods. I think I grew one in a pot once, but wasn't successful. They thrive in sunny, humid subtropical areas like Mexico, Florida, Hawaii, and parts of California (US growing zones 9--11). If you live where it gets cold, you'll have to grow in a pot, and bring inside, so it will never achieve the large size possible in favorable conditions. Still makes a nice houseplant, but don't expect fruit.
