0:12 Well, looking at the Original Alloy Wheel at this timestamp: I see that it is an OEM Lexus ES 300 16" 2002 variant. If you notice the paint job on it (if it is OEM) the whole car is gold. older years have a different color just below the passenger door protector. This tells me that it is near impossible to get a good deal for this car make and model at 65,000 miles for $3,000. For the average person, the same vehicle with over 100,000 to over 200,000 miles on it, would cost close to $5,000 or more. So in year 2022, I think this video is just to gloat that he got a steal of a deal and no average person would be able to get this kind of price for the same kind of car. Unless you are a smart buyer, and get a fair car with problems that you know how to fix for a similar price

@keithsj10
@keithsj10 2 жыл бұрын
Who doesn't need a bargain? Have cash on the side when you come across one, buy it and flip it. Especially now with the price of cars. And it doesn't have to be a car either. A bargain is a bargain and eBay exists. I stumbled across 3-12 volt Nextec drills I thought hadn't been made in years at a Sears Hometown Store a couple months ago. They were for sale at retail price. They are selling for three times that on eBay, some _without_ the included battery. I guess some entrepreneurial people are pulling the batteries out, selling the "tool only" and selling the battery by itself separately. Scummy, but profitable I guess. Anyway I bought all 3 for about $50 each. I'll keep one and sell the others on eBay for probably $125 when I get around to it. Maybe today... 🤔

Some are comparable.. some aren't. I looked at the Acura RDX 2022 in Canada and the closest Honda to that was the Passport. The price point wasn't a big difference. And the Acura held a few extra features that the Honda doesn't. Top trim for passport starts at $52,000. While the top trim RDX is $58,000. The RDX has a few features that are small but may be important to you. If it's just for driving A->B then sure the Honda is better for $. (As always) but the RDX has a much nicer panoramic sunroof, the sound system is a lot nicer. The HUD is really nice, and wireless charger etc. Is a nice touch. Ontop of that, the car looks nicer.. has nicer materials for the interior and overall in my opinion is better. When you compare $6000 difference.. its not a big deal. If the RDX was $68,000 vs passport at $52,000. I'd agree. The RDX isn't priced well. The CRV is also comparable. But I found the crv to be a boring drive in comparison due to the CVT. I felt like I'd be flooring it for a long time before I felt speed.

I like Scotty but he's full of it on this one. He didn't find that Lexus, his customer _offered_ it to him, after taking the financial hit himself, of course. And since Scotty knew the guy and apparently serviced the car personally, he knew there was nothing wrong with it. It was a sweetheart deal nobody but mechanics and family members are able to find. I found a ten year old Venza with 220,000 miles on it for about $3000 under blue book. I also found a Tacoma for $2000 under blue book years ago too. Both in exceptional shape. There's deals out there and Lexus builds actual quality. It's the cost of the parts and the labor that goes up with the name. Unless you know a Scotty that won't rip you off...

My memory ain’t what it ever was but seems to me ,YEARS ago, SOMEONE (Scotty) was complaining about the REALLY expensive brake cylinder on that Lexus! Coulda been someone not as wise though. (He’s still THE MAN)

Scottie, it’s going to be super difficult find a Lexus like that for $3,000 (even before the pandemic). You basically hit the car jackpot.

Yeah Scotty. Headlight cost between Lexus and Toyota? I shopped around and the best price I could find from brick and mortar was $110 each. Compared to the Toyota which was a quarter of the price for the pair…

Well, with the exception that he didn't even say that. He suggested buying a Toyota/Honda/Nissan rather than a Lexus/Acura/Infinity unless you can find a steal deal.

Research parts and repair cost for the lexus/acura vs cost for the same repair on the toyota/honda. You might be surprised!

@@rnt45t1 Yeah, I was recently looking at getting a Lexus, but the maintenance and repair costs pushed me back into the Camry/Avalon circle.

Right now a Lexus and a Toyota cost almost the same. Compare a Avalon to a ES or a loaded Camry to a IS. Then the insurance ends up coming out at the same price.
