My dad died 3 days before Christmas last year and this was the song i ended up crying myself to sleep to. I dont know why i picked it. It's always been a beautiful song to me. But it spoke so much to me in my time of hurt. I dont mean to be morbid to anyone here, but for anyone reading this comment, tell your loved ones how much you love them. Life goes past too fast. Btw my dad was 61 and died of sudden heart failure. I'm devastated beyond words

Such a lyrically deep song. The idea of feeling so alone in life that you seek comfort from the presence of strangers, but even the strangers can't fill that empty void. Feeling like nobody understands you, like nobody wants the same out of life. The feeling of wanting to be accepted so bad that you're willing to pack it all up and leave the past behind you. I always come back to this song as a personal memoir to represent the journey of my life. Sometimes we just have to figure things out on our own, even if that means leaving things we care about. We have to always have hope that someone will come along to save us from those moments of despair, a romantic partner, family, a friend.

I was 17 when this song came out. I was pregnant with my son and I would sing this song to my son in stomach. Now He's 17yrs old and getting ready to graduate from high school (God willing) wow time flys Wow I don't think I've ever gotten this many likes on a comment thanks everybody

I was 14 when Avril's debut album came out. "Complicated" and "Sk8er Boi" were everywhere, but to me, this was the best song from that album. I'm 35 now, and even today, I think this song is amazing.
