My case followed this exact mapping! I have seen cases where only 3 leaders were in the top 6 boxes, but yeah after a few case openings I noticed this too😢

So, here is how it works behind the scenes where the cards are made and where they are sorted into packs, boxes, and then into cases. It is NOT random, it is an algorithm that determines everything. With a high enough sample size it is possible to map every current tcg on the market with a high degree of success. To counter this at the manufacturing level, they use multiple algorithms at varying intervals. You can have the 3 AA leaders in the top 1/2 of the case be true for X amount of cases but when you get a case done under the 2nd algorithm it won't be true.

i heard from many vendors that didnt order massive amounts of OP 05, that they didnt even get a whole case, so id say boxes on the secondary market are lowkey fine.

A friend of mine opened a case and the box mapping were not the same as here : here what he got : (from top to bottom left to right) : (TOP) 1 - (secret 2 alt) 2- (secret 1 alt) 3 - (secret 1 alt + luffy oda) 4 - (leader sp) 5 - (leader 2 alt) 6 - (secret 1 alt + luffy oda) (BOTTOM) 7 - (secret 2 alt) 8 - (secret 1 alt) 9 - (leader sp) 10 - (secret 2 alt) 11 - (secret 2 alt) 12 - (leader 2 alt). Seems like it might also depend on distributer and maybe region or batch of case ( ex: you buy 10 case at the same shop, might be the same mapping vs other shop or region) ( Note : Im from Canada.

Opened multiple cases ourselves for release and they definitely didnt follow the "all leaders on top" mapping

Thanks a lot, i just started collecting and trying to learn OP tcg and bought 6 booster boxes because they were all retail. Yes I’m chasing manga and rares but mostly to have a crazy collection. Might slow down on buying more op05 and other boxes if all the boxes I’m getting have no mangas and possibly get more packs when possible

My strategy is, Open a box or 2 from each set and after that keep one sealed and try and find sealed packs or Double packs. I always get lucky with random packs like the SP Nami from OP05 or regular Oda Luffy

Hey, so I've seen a couple different case openings that definitely didn't follow the case mapping of the top 6 containing the 4 AA leader, 2 SP cards, 2 Oda cards. My own case didn't follow this either, my box 1 on the top row contained 2x AA (no leader) and 1 SEC. I'm over in Canada. I wonder if maybe there was product coming from a specific factory where the case boxes weren't randomized, and then others where the boxes didn't follow the pattern. Because to your point, I watched all your case openings as well as a few others and it was the 4 AA Leader, 2 SP, 2 Oda cards on top! Very interesting none the less, and congratulations on your pulls!

Somehow I can confirm that too. I bought 2 cases. I opened the first one und opened the top 6 boxes. The upper and bottom row two top boxes had the alt art leaders in it. 2 of them had the SP cards in it (I think it was the ones in the bottom row). The both in the middle row had the anni Oda in them. After that I paused. That was 3 days ago. Since then I was thinking about if I leave the unopened 6 boxes sealed and that I open the 2nd case instead. Today I went on the 1st anniversary tournament at a local store (my first tournament) and really won it. So I got the Winner Card (P-041) G5. In the evening after the tournament I went to the place of a good friend to give him a birthday gift (a OP05 box that I bought separately). Because I felt good and lucky because of the tournament I decided to not open the second case. Instead I took the unopened 6 boxes from case 1 with me to my friend and opened a couple of these. That was the best decision I have ever made. I took the bottom row 2 boxes from the 6 boxes at the bottom and opened those. The first one (bottom row right one) got a SEC G5 Luffy and an alt art G5 Luffy. The second one (bottom row left box) got SEC Kaido, alt art Gedatsu AND the Oda Signature Luffy in it. After that I stopped. It would be nice to pull for a manga rare but I think there will be nothing more in those 4 boxes that are left from case 1. I dont know if I should try and open case 2 or if I leave it, because the only cards left im interested in are the manga rares and SP Enel. BTW the hits: AA Leader: - Akainu (Sakazuki) - Luffy - Corazon (Rosinante) - Enel SP-Cards: - Nami - Kaido 2x anni Oda cards AAs: - Lucci - Sabo - X Drake - Zoro - Kizaru (Borsalino) - Mansherry - G5 Luffy - Gedatsu SECs: - G5 Luffy - 2x Kaido ( 1 was in the same box as the Oda Signature Card, the other one in the top middle row boxes with the normal Oda anni card) AND the biggest boy of all -> Oda Signature Luffy So this is fitting to the mapping theory.

I think you need to revisit this. Reopen the case of the RECENT WAVE OF RELEASE AND SEE IF THEY DID NOT CHANGE THE ORIENTATION OF WHAT COMES IN THOSE BOXES.

I have yet to buy loose boxes of any set due to this issue in sets. My case had two leader on the top and two leader below but with the chase cards being in the bottom there is zero chance I buy loose boxes even from a reputable seller. Good information.

I bought one box at locals and pulled the 2 AA characters on the first two packs then took about 5 more to pull the AA leader. (All the AA sucked tho) They are always on the same spot. I’ve only opened 3 boxes so far.

The mapping details are incorrect. We bought and opened 5 cases, and while 1 of our cases was exactly as you described (all Leaders/Normal Odas/SPs on the top, Manga in the Bottom Lower Right box), the other 4 cases were different compositions, and we got one of the rarest cards in 4 out of 5 cases, with 2 of the hits coming from the upper boxes.

Nonsens how you imagine saying any 2 cards just released will most expensive card in the game which has just a year. Any serialized Luffy is way more expensive than these two cards, boom whole theory fails. I can imagine they might be expensive buy OP05 gets to era of most hyped card game on the market and will be overprinted to the limit. OP01 1st print might be limited as demant was high and stock shorts. Most of OP01 was opened because people wanted to play, whereas OP05 went mostly to the shops and investors that put them to their garages. Don't follow that FOMO as this is insane.

So sad, people tracing things like this, makes you feel disappointed of continue purchasing the game and it’s taking the magic away of open a booster box.
