Scene One: Ant catapulted through air after a mortar explosion. Explosions in distance are heard. Scene Two: Ant lands with piles of dirt, surrounded by variety of fungi. We don't know it yet, but this is the scalp of the soldier and the ant has landed deep into his hair, as it is dark and dirty. The soldier has tinea capitis (ringworm of the scalp). There is a full ecosystem of various fungus growing there, as the soldier has been engaged in trench warfare. Scene Three: Ant crawls out of the hair and onto dry, patchy, scaly skin. This skin condition is common with tinea corporis (body ringworm). Explosions get closer and closer. A nearby explosion causes shrapnel to hit the soldier's face, and ant is blown through the skin and into the brain. Scene Four: Ant is in a tunneled part of the brain, surrounded by nerves and blood capillaries. The nerves are transmitting the signals (light), and the blood is progressively pumping faster, and faster, as the soldier is hemorrhaging from his limb loss and injuries. With the engorgement of blood and likely swelling in this part of the brain, the tunnel is constricted. The heart stops as a "flat-line' sound is played, along with the stopping of the pulses. Scene Five: Ant emerges from the constricted tunnel, into another chamber of the brain. Though the heart has stopped, the neuron cells of light are still, for the moment, alive. The neurons begin to die, as they shut down in progressive succession. The ant sees a hole (probably the same one he was blown in through) in the top portion of that brain chamber to escape. Light flashes through the opening (mortar explosions from the outside war). Scene Six: Ant climbs out of brain chamber and to the base of the optic nerve, that leads up to the backside of the eye. The war outside is very much like a terrible storm, as the sound of explosions and thunder mix to give that impression, along with flashes of light from the explosions that are like lightening. The light is able to curve around the sides of the eye down into the brain chamber. Scene Seven: The ant's instincts kick in. The ant senses time is running out, as soon the cells will lyse (split apart) and cause an apocalyptic end to the ant's existence. Scene Eight: Ant escapes out of the soldier, and sound of combat is now in the distance.

So is nobody gonna talk about how good are the graphics in this video?

Such a simple idea, but such quality execution. Brilliant! The pacing was perfect, and the ending..wow!

A twisted tale for sure! It’s visually stunning! I loved how the uncontrollable environment, in its totality. Controlled the fates’ of separate beings so intimately connected, yet obvious to the other’s shared plight. Both tiny in their, “big picture” view of the world. Nicely done! Thank you.

Ants are incredible, they're conscious, they feel uncertainty, the can identify themselves, they farm, war, enslave, spy, bury their dead, and do in fact have individuality.

Mind. Frakkin' BLOWN. This was one of THE most AMAZING little films I've ever watched. Possibly the most original concept I've ever seen, too. Wow. My mind has been very much boggled and my gob thoroughly smacked. The artists did an astounding job on this!

I never, ever thought I’d feel sorry for an ant. When the ant was running & squeezing through the reddish tube I thought he must be in a vein. When I saw the man’s eye I realised the ant was going to emerge from a dead body. It still made no sense to me though. What we’re all glowing pods and lights?

When you remember that ants don't really weigh anything so they don't really get hurt from falls: *gasp*

At the end a wonderful parable emerges: all the torments the ant goes through on its way, the soldiers also experienced during the war. And vice versa, soldiers in war are expected to sacrifice themselves just like ants - without thinking or asking why. A soldier MUST even act like an ant because if he would act like a human he would be wondering what to throw away his young life for ...

When I saw that rope hanging from a wrecking ball, it was that moment when I realized that the rope is the eye nerve and the ant was traveling through the synapse of a creature and the creature eventually turns out to be a human! Voila!!!
