Award Winning Lemon Cake!!

Күн бұрынIngredients & Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease and flour bundt pan..... 1 Pkg. (3oz) Lemon Jello, 3/4 c. boiling water...Combine boiling water and jello and cool completely. Mix cooled jello into Duncan Hines Lemon Supreme cake mix and add 2/3 cup oil and mix well, then add 4 eggs one at a time, beating well afrer each egg. Pour into bundt pan and bake for 55 minutes but test after 50 minutes. Glaze/Frosting: Squeeze juice from 2 softened lemons, (about 6 tablespoons) heat lemon jusice just till warmed NOT boiling, add 1 cup powdered sugar and stir till dissolved. Let cool completely in pan. Drizzle frosting over warm cake. MAKE SURE YOU USE JELLO AND NOT INSTANT PUDDING MIX.

What a fabulous lemon flavor this cake has! I baked the cake couple of days ago. I don't like baking out of a box, but I had to try it. The cake was so good that I had 2 pieces! This cake is going nowhere but staying in my kitchen! A winning Lemon Cake in my house!

Depending on what type of Bundt pan you use, my bake time was only 40 minutes and came out perfect. Also did 1 & 1/2 glaze amount. The cake was the best! Thanks for posting and really enjoy your channel!

I made this using a white cake mix and strawberry gelatin. When she says jello, she means the gelatin/jelly powder. I was skeptical but it was really good! I tried other recipe using gelatin and most of them came out gluey. This one was nicely fluffy and had a really nice texture, not too dense. It was a bit overdone at 350 for 50min, next time I’ll try 325 for 50-55min or 350 for 45min.

I tried it because I’ve loved all your other recipes I’ve tried and I didn’t care for this cake. It was a little dry and had an after taste. My husband didn’t like it either. I will say, I’m not a fan of Duncan Hines box cakes. I knew that going in but wanted to try the recipe exactly first before I made any tweaks. I will try a different brand of cake mix next time.

If you can't find lemon supreme you can try just lemon, I've tried that also because they were out of supreme, turned out great just not quite as moist but still good. Thanks for watching and have a great day.

Umm I mixed the jello with 2/3 cup of water and it doesn’t look like what you put in the cake ??????

So sorry you misread the recipe, it says 3/4 cup of boiling water to be mixed with the jello and the 2/3 cup of oil goes in the cake. Thanks for watching though and have a great day! Hopes this helps.

Hi, my question is the Duncan Hines Cake Mix use to be 18.25oz when your Uncle Jack got the recipe right? If so now the cake mix is now 16.5oz. & 15.25oz. Did you adjust the recipe to the smaller box or bought 2 boxes and took 2.20oz or 3.00oz to bring the recipe back up to the original 18.25oz? 16.5 + 2.20 = 18.25 oz or 15.25 + 3.00 = 18. 25oz

This is Joyce....That's really interesting the past different sizes...I never even paid any attention to the changes in the size of the box. The size I use today in this recipe is actually 15.25 oz and I have not changed the recipe at all. I will watch to see if they reduce it further and if my recipe requires any change. For now it still comes out perfectly the same each time. Thank you for bringing that to my attention because I would have been baffled if it had not turned out, lolol🍒👍

Hi Joyce, thanks for responding! I'ts just whenever I use the box mix since all the cake companies downsized their product. I still by habit buy 2 boxes to bring the mix back to the original 18.25 oz. Those smaller boxes makes a smaller cake. Glad I brought it up! Enjoy Your Day🌹💕

Leanne, it's the Lemon Jell-O mix, in the video I saw the pudding mix and stopped the camera and change the box, hahah you caught me, have a wonderful day!!!😀🍒👍

I'm confused..what is the entire name of the pudding mix on the box? I thought it was instant but your recipe says not..is it the cooked kind?

Sorry for any confusion in the ingredients and instructions. Below the video it says Jello Gelatin. I actually threw away the Jello box and grabbed another one from my cupboard and didn't realize it said Jello pudding on the box. So the recipe calls for Jello Gelatin.👍🍒😊 Thanks for watching and have a great evening.
