Being Julia really shows the acting chops of Annette. She deserved this, but I would've loved a tie between her and Kate Winslet in Eternal Sunshine. They were both incredible!

Annette Bening is so beautiful and a wonderful actress. My adoptive mother Irene who died when i was a teenager looked a loth with Annette in her youth.

I don't think she deserved it that year - Kate Winslet did. Anette Bening is an incredible actress though and I think she REALLY deserved the best actress oscar in 1999 for American Beauty which she lost to Hilary Swank.

know many people will not agree with me but I I do not think that Anette Bening is a good actress. Whenever she plays joy she starts to scream with laughter, whenever she she plays sorrow she starts to yell. I never believe her in whatever role she plays. I really don't.

Hmmm...I love Annette but I get what you mean...there are some actors I cannot stand...like Nicolas cage, imo he is the same in every role he plays...the characters are diverse and yet he always manages to just be Nicolas cage playing Nicolas cage
