Love my Away bags! Had them since 2018. Only one had a buckle that broke about 4 years after purchase and Away swapped it out. Process was completely hassle free and customer service didn’t make me jump through hoops. Thanks for the review and detailing your experience!

Jen I just wanted to say my hubby and I watched this and talked about how much you’ve influenced us in good ways! I have a few pieces from Away luggage. The bigger carry on, the large and the everywhere bag. We travelled to Australia, and cross country. Bags held up great. Love that they have a lifetime guarantee. No complaints!

@@Mocha_x_svt lol literally made a spreadsheet of each! I honestly only went with monos bc some reviews said the handle of the monos was less wobbly than away. I honestly don’t think you could go wrong with either they’re incredibly comparable

I can’t lift the bigger Away bag up into the overhead bin. I had to get the Travelpro Max light 5. I can fill it to about 20# and then I can get it up there.

I put this on your instagrams stories but don’t think you’ll see it there. This is in respond to you having gotten too many comments of a “you did this wrong” nature. I am proud of you and your bravery to draw the lines on reading the comments. I don’t always get to your videos as they drop but still like to leave positive comments. If you never see them, that’s ok. They will have been sent into the universe anyway and their energy will hopefully find you. Bringing it back here, I’ve had my bigger carry on since 2017 and I adore it. It’s about to go on three back to back trips (two for fun and one for work) starting in two weeks. I have three away bags. One of them since 2017. It’s been to Europe three times and Asia once, as well as countless domestic flights. Just sent away a message with minor issues on all three bags and they are sending me 3 brand new bags from their new line. You could totally send them about that buckle missing and you could get a brand new bag!

I have the Bigger Carry-on and the Medium, and LOVE both. I did get the battery for the carry-on and after gate-checking the batter went missing. I contacted Away to buy a replacement and they sent it to me for free!! Amazing customer service and a fantastic product.

My Away bag (medium regular) has the same handle sticky issue and was degrading from the cruise line disinfecting. Away sent me a new handle last week, no charge even for shipping. So easy to deal with customer service. We have purchased 7 of the Away bags. Excellent luggage!

I have both the bigger and regular carry ons. I’ve been using them for 3 years and I love them! No issues with these suitcases! Mine have scratches too. But it’s ok. I don’t care either.

Very good bag. If you’re not picky about warranty, just get the Quince Carry-On (almost identical construction and likely made at the same Chinese factory) for half the price.

Wee have the smaller Away carryon with the battery and liked it. My wife's company gave them as part of the trip to Hawaii President's Club award. Unfortunately the one we have doesn't expand, so over the years we stopped using it. Still in great shape. I took a different carryon with me on a recent trip to India and wished that I had taken the Away.

I am very curious how often, if any, you get asked to check in the Bigger Carry-On bag for not meeting certain airline carry-on size requirements, such as Alaska Airlines. This is the main reason I am only considering the standard Carry-On luggage but I'd really like the extra 20% space.

Thank you SO much for your review! I have no idea what suitcase brand to buy because the last one I bought (American trunk and case brand) is still in pristine shape after extensive and international for 20 years but it's heavy and I have arthritis. So I've decided to sell it. I also feel like every brand are like cheapskates now so I was doing a lot of research before my purchase. I got lucky way back when, I picked my original siutcase because I needed it to be big enough to fit everything I needed for a summer trip in europe with family/friends and my only thoughts as a teen were 'it was cute leopard print' 😅😂😂😂

4:32 - that damage sounds similar to what we had on some surfaces in our ambulance. Q.T. spray was the culprit.

I had to go check because I bought the suitcase with the battery and I was nervous. Plus our phones have lithium in them. This is on the Away website in their FAQS section. Can I fly with the battery? “Yes! Your suitcase battery is compliant with current airline policies, FAA, TSA, and DOT regulations and meets UN/DOT 38.3 requirements. It is allowed in the cabin and can be carried onto any flight. Please keep in mind that some airlines may require you to remove your battery prior to boarding.” As of 7/25 Wish me luck! 😊❤

Yes in the cabin you are totally fine it’s only an issue if you have to gate check your bag. Safe travels!

I purchased a regular Away carry on and the medium checked luggage a few weeks ago but the handle on the carry on was soooooooo flimsy/wobbly. It was even wobblier than the other brand names carry on at Ross and Marshalls! As much as I paid for it, Away should have made sturdier handles. The handle on the medium checked luggage wasn't as flimsy as the carry on but even that luggage has it flaw. I can't return them because I purchased their Final Sale so I can't get my money back. 😥

I would hope and expect their product to last and their customer service to stand behind their warranty and products for what they charge. At the end of the day, it's a molded piece of glorified plastic, cheap to manufacture, so the profit margin is quite large.

We went with the light pink for my wife because it was on clearance. We do know full well that it will show scuffs a lot more than a darker color...but so what? It's luggage.

Welcome back! You look rested. My husband and I have had the Away carryons for about 3 years and love them. We both just got the Everywhere bag for an upcoming trip. Do you have the Away packing cubes? I am tempted to buy a set even though I have others, because I would love to have a set that fits perfectly within the confines of the bag, which I assume they do. Would love your thoughts.

I don't know that I've ever done a specific review of it but I love it! It's a great bag BUT pretty pricey for what it is. I love it and use it but you can definitely find similar things for a lot less money (Target has some great options)

I rarely fly first class and have flown international on Delta with it many times. It is too heavy for most international carriers that weight carry on bags (Delta does not). Hope that helps!

If you're checking a bag, I would get the medium. It's really quite big but still manageable in the airport. I own it and really like it for longer trips! The large is really REALLY large (too big in my view).

YES this was the bag I took to Japan. Unless you are flying an international carrier (in which case even the smaller one is too big in some cases) this will work great. I fly Delta exclusively and it fits on all their aircraft.

Jen, have you ever flown on a Delta CRJ900 with the Away Bigger Carry On? If so, did you have to gate check it or did it fit in the overhead bin?

I haven’t but only the tiniest of roller bags will fit in that plane. Even the regular Away carry on is too big. They would gate check it for you.

Who care about the scratches? If you don’t like it 1. Don’t buy plastic 2. Wrapped at the airport. 3. Accept the condition since airport personal don’t care and they throwing all luggages like a football.
