I own a 17 GTS and it is truly an amazing machine. I don’t find myself ever yearning to drive my CTS-V anymore since I bought it.

Just got my 2021 GTS; it is amazing. One fact to note: the 0-60 time is significantly quicker than 4.7 seconds; more like 3.9-4.0 (which is also the time Car and Driver attained)

I drive a 2017 GTS which I bought around 6 months ago, for literally less than half of MSRP. Unbelievable deal and amazing car, with all the options I wanted. I was going to get an S but I decided a GTS would be more special and hold value better, but I did have to hunt nationwide to find one and I flew across the country to buy my car and drive it home. I'm really happy with it and I have to say your review did impact my decision the first time around!

Macan S, dad didn't care too much about power or driving but I convinced him not to get base model.

I got the GTS, love the air suspension and the exhaust sound! And it’s THE one that holds the best resale value of all the cars in the market!

I own the 2018 base all blinged out, air suspension, quad exhaust...etc. I bought it late in the 2018 season and the dealership gave me a very good deal on it. I decided to go with a blinged out base over a less tricked out S because I didn’t notice any significant difference in performance between the two power sources. I absolutely love the car....it’s hands down the most rewarding car I’ve ever owned.

I got the GTS because it has everything I needed, air suspension, sport exhaust, Spyder GTS wheels. Turbo is nice but the additional performance over GTS is not worth the the extra dough IMO.

I got the GTS and love it. After watching your first GTS episode and doing my research, it really is the sweet spot with lower suspension, hp and torque. I keep it is Sport mode all the time and the notes of the car is incredible. I don't even look at other cars anymore as this car is close to perfection.

We bought a Certified PreOwned Macan Turbo and that’s the actual perfect “sweet spot”. It’s original MSRP with options was 99,460 (USD) and we grabbed it at 3 years old with less than 23,000 miles for under $52K. Best of everything and the Turbo is such a sleeper rocket. Plus you hardly ever see another Turbo as everyone has the S. GTS is a great model as well but still feels more like an appearance pack packaged with the sports exhaust.

I have a 18 volcano Grey GTS, I prefer my generation as I don’t care for the new tail lights, lack of driving lights, not as loud as my 18. I chose the GTS for the alcantera, wheels, blacked out badging & pipes, air ride. The seats are just perfect. I have owned many vehicles & this is hands down my favourite. It feels more sports car feel than SUV. Last year I purchased it used with 15000km from Porsche with 5 years wty. They are now going for $10k more than what I paid for it. 👍👍when does that ever happen.

Porsche dealers sell a buttload of base Macan's so they pushed my mother-in-law hard on one to move stock but I thankfully convinced her to go for the S, it's a huge difference from the base!

We’ve got a Macan S, the added price for 40 or so more HP didn’t make much sense. We chose to get more interior options. Thinking of doing a tune at some point

My father has a 2018 Macan S. After test driving the base Macan and the S, there is a huge difference in engine note and speed between the two. He also refuses to purchase a 2021 because of the Audi engine whereas the 2018 and prior uses a Porsche derived engine.

Our family has a 2015 S, 2018 GTS and 2020 Turbo and I must say the 2018 Macan GTS is by far the most emotive and fun drive. Not to mention the engine sounds superior to the new Audi engines

I got a 2018 Macan GTS (CPO) last year. I prefer the GTS trims because it has all the sport options I want and typically looks the best on the exterior. I fell in love with the driving dynamics and this one looks beautiful in midnight blue and a red interior.

Bought the '15 Turbo at a rock bottom price when the automotive panic hit during the COVID pandemic. Purchased with a third party warranty, so mechanical concerns are out the door. Two words: LOVE IT! Rides like a sports car, has plenty of space, only downside is the amount of people with subarus and such trying to race me...

Macan Lane Keep Assist does do steering intervention, it's an option in the settings. The LKA is not lane centering but ping pong style yet it will turn the steering wheel to hold the lines around a bend. I've got a Macan Turbo and have that setting enabled

I went with the Turbo. The Turbo is awesome! I have a 17 So it has a 3.6L twin turbo. 400 HP launch control and a badass engine sound. The turbo just drove better in my opinion. The more power is nice and the turbo handles corners and on track days is very very quick.

A few years ago my uncle, who owned a new 991s at the time, went with a BMW X3 35i instead of a Macan. Plenty of power and excellent handling, plus more practical as a daily driver since it's a little bigger. Macan prices get absolutely insane for anything other than the base model, and he didnt need a super fast daily driver since he had the 911.

I bought a new Macan with the 4 cylinder last year. I really didn’t consider the S/GTS since the price difference is pretty massive. My Macan is well optioned and was able to get a good deal (~63k US Sticker paid ~52k). I was looking at Audi Q5 and BMW X3 M40is but the build quality on the Porsche + resale on the Macan is pretty unbeatable. Honestly it’s got good power and the drive is butter smooth, especially compared to my last car, a 2019 S4 even with the adaptive dampers. Interior is gorgeous with the tan leather and tech is pretty good. For a luxury car it really does fit the bill!

As a '16 owner, I love my tail lights infinitely more than the current models. But, I also hate my infotainment infinitely more as well.

I own a 2015 S. I bought it because it's damn near the perfect daily, my particular example has outstanding optons, and a Cobb Accessport and tune make it even more enjoyable. Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that Yuri and Jakub contributed to my decision-making process.

When I was optioning out my S, I noticed that for a few thousands extra I can get the GTS that comes standing with those options such as bigger wheels, sports seats plus, air suspension, etc. You’re right, a lightly specced GTS is the sweetest spot in the Porsche lineup.

Great video guys, the Macan is my favorite looking SUV out there, with the Maserati Levante a close 2nd. I feel like the Macan really looks like a Porsche for an SUV and has the perfect proportions, the GTS looks the best of the trims.

I just got my 2021 Macan GTS a couple weeks ago...Mamba Green with Sport Chrono, PTV+, Premium Plus Package, and other goodies. Why the GTS? Because you get the Turbo engine and all the performance goodies (air suspension, pasm, sports exhaust, etc.) and blacked out/visual stuff that's cool.

I got a 2021 S. Felt like the best value in the line-up and we went a bit heavy on the visual customization and luxury options and didn't want to totally break the bank. The Cobb Sport tunes are always available if I want a bit more power for cheap.

We've had a Macan S and currently have a GTS. Bought the S because Porsche and bought the GTS off a friend because it looked awesome

We have a base 4cyl Macan and its excellent. Still tows 4400lbs and drives amazing. I call it the Golf R that can tow! Didn't opt for a higher model because out of our price range. But most CUVs that could tow and fit in our short garage were in the $40-50k range, so we only splurged a few grand more to get the best and most entertaining to drive option!

My dad got a bass Macan. Funny story. The dealership modded this base Macan with all the exterior options to the point where it cost as much as the upper trim levels. They couldn't sell it so it got used as the manager's car for a couple years. They dropped the price and my dad got a great deal. Base Macan with the options.

Went for the GTS. It had a lot of the options we wanted out of the box and the engine sounded a lot better. Agree that it is the sweet spot!

I have recently picked up my 2021 Macan GTS from the dealership. The reason why I picked it over the Turbo is: 1. Porsche Surface Coated Brakes (PSCB) that comes standard with Turbo models, to me, feels spongy and what I heard is it wears out fast. Plus I'm not a big fan of white brake calibers. 2. I'm in love with the look of standard black aluminum (interior) panels! 3. Test drive shows the power difference of GTS and the Turbo models is not very significant: only over 6000 RPM you may be able to tell that the Turbo pulls harder in this rev range? And for a daily car, I think the GTS is powerful enough for me :) Plus it would cost me a lot more to make a Turbo look as sick as a GTS naturally does.

A friend of mine has bought a 2017 Macan S Diesel, because in Italy we have a stupidly high tax on power (15€ for each hp over 258hp plus 1.9€ for each hp below 136 hp aaaand 2,85€ for each hp between 136 and 258)and the gas is about two times more expensive than it’s in North America. I guess you can understand why everybody drives 70hp diesel cars 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

We just got our 21 Macan GTS yesterday. And that car is a dream! We tried the regular Macan first, but it took just one pedal flooring to say “nah” and we jumped into GTS. Turbo is too much money and not exactly proportional to performance. And we wanted lower and stiffer suspension (which GTS has over Turbo and others) Didn’t spec a lot of things tho (that’s the point of GTS, spec it as low as possible because it’s a bargain for performance). That being said, I love it. Although a live in Europe, it sounds amazing and has enough power to suit your needs. (Apart from german Autobahn there is no place in Europe to use more than 300 hp anyway so 380 [euro horses] feels like guilty pleasure). Best daily driver I can imagine.

We have a ‘17 base model with the 4 cylinder. It’s not the car we drive most of the time, we only have it as a spare / for long distance purposes. Because of that, I didn’t really care how much power it has. I was shopping on a budget but wanted the ride and build quality. Let me just say that the driving position is the best in the entire world, bar none. This was one of the main reason for choosing the Macan. It is the best car for cross country road trips. Perfect for any weather, terrain, and distance - and you can still have fun driving it.

Mom has a base Macan because she doesn't drive fast and just wanted a Porsche. Very impressed.

My family has a 2017 Macan S and loves it! It’s a great balance of power and practicality. The upgraded exhaust note and extra power make it a no brainer over the base macan (4 cylinder). We didn’t think it was worth paying any more for the gts or turbo as it’s not much more car for a lot more money... with options you’re looking at over $20,000 to upgrade from the S to turbo for roughly 100hp when you can easily throw in a tune and new exhaust for a fraction of the price. Great video as always!

So my dad (69) got at the end of last year a fully spaced 93k€ Macan 2.0 (aka the GTI with 245bhp). I think he, and me, thought it would be enough, as he was coming from a Stelvio 2.0 diesel. But at least every second time I see him he is like “how much more would a Macan with a V6 be?” Or “would the V6 use much more fuel than this (2.0 does about 11L/100km)?”. I guess he thought it would be enough the 2.0, which it is for everyday use.... but if you drive a Porsche maybe when getting the base engine it isn’t as satisfying knowing that just for a bit more (5-6k€) you could have got one with a better engine.... Never the less... the Macan is a great car and Everytime I see one I want to get one for myself as well.

Since you’ve driven the other sub models, why not focus on the things exclusive to the GTS like the suspension (which is lower than the Turbo)? Also the big change after the facelift is that it’s a detuned Turbo with the beefier rods rather than an uptuned S.

I bought a fully loaded Macan S. Wanted the GTS but it wasn’t available when I built mine. So far I’m not disappointed. I have the sport exhaust and sport plus package. I’ve added a few mods and am working the HP upward. Absolutely love this vehicle and love the exhilaration of a Porsche.

I got the GTS last month, after having an S for over a year - no regrets! After seeing so many reviews, I didn't think the Turbo was warranted. I'm almost through the 2000 mile recommended break-in period, so I haven't gone crazy with it yet. Heh, I also got the GTS in Mamba Green, but with black wheels; love it!

Family has a '17 Macan S - the regular Macan didn't seem quite enough to achieve that really quick, sporty driving feel that you want from a Porsche, but the Macan turbo wasn't really necessary for a family car. The S/GTS is right in the middle and seems perfect for fun, daily use

'15 Macan S here. Bought it new, ordered it before even demos were available in Canada. No base or GTS at the time. Turbo cost more than I wanted to spend. 2-3 months though and I'll be leaving Porsche. Don't want another SUV, don't want a sports car and Panamera is butt ugly. Replacement already on order.

Good review guys as always. I had a GTS Macan and loved it . When it was in service , I drove base,s, Cayenne. Base is under power for sure. S did not have the luxury feel as GTS interior is above that unless more boxes are ticked. Cayenne is just heavier so you would need to go up to the next level . Guess when it comes down to the big names, money is the only issue . :) cheers

I own a 17 Macan S. I love the car. I feel like it's one of the best SUVs in this segment. The infotainment / ergonomics are awesome. Real buttons for all your everyday functions. You don't have to dig through menus (way easier to use vs BMWs i-drive and whatever system Mercedes uses). Good power / handles great. I purchased an "S" because it was originally going to be my wife's daily driver, but the car ended up being my daily. Also, at the time I ordered it back in '16, there were no GTS available to test drive since they just announced it. If I had to rebuy a it today, I would probably get a GTS. The Macan Turbo isn't worth the extra money to me since I have other sportier cars to drive. I feel like the GTS / S have enough power for a daily driving. I'll drive one of my other cars if I'm going for a spirited mountain drive.

The GTS is by far the best pick out of the line up. This one has the right amount of power and the right amount of Porsche in it!! It Rocks!!

We have a 2014 macan turbo. Gts was not available back then and only macan s and turbo were available. Had a bunch of macan/s as loaners when taking the car in for service. No regrets so far :)

My father has a 2018 Macan sport edition which was a option pack for the final year of the first gen. He felt the smaller engine was all he needed for his daily driver and actually like how the front was a bit lighter with it when doing some spirited driving.

I just got a 2015 Macan Turbo and it is a BEAST. Absolutely love it and will definitely tune for even more power cuz well why not.

I'm a chauffeur and got a client with a macan GTS once. I thought it was just a fancy Q5 but it drove freaking awesome! ever since then, I've wanted one.

I bought a GTS because after I spec’d an S it was almost as much as a GTS. It’s a lot of fun to drive and it’s a bonus that I can fit my kids in the back.

Hey Guys, I bought a 2020 Macan GTS (Miami Blue) as it ticked all the box’s practicality/performance/looks/good residuals, but mainly because the GTS and the Turbo have exactly the same engine (GTS is detuned slightly ) and I could chip in the future if I wanted but tbh I’ve never got out the car after a spirited drive and thought “I need more power.” Engine sounds great!! Btw I’ve been waiting for your review on this car for ages as your last one was great! This car is great fun to drive and just cruising or blasting it= 👍🏻 Keep up the good work

Had a 2016 Macan Turbo, b/c when I ordered it, was limited to an S or Turbo and there’s just SO many options built in to the turbo - LOVED it for 5 years and traded for a Taycan.

i own a 2017 macan s with a lot of bells and whistles... however, having driven the 4 cylinder macan as a loaner several times, i often wish i had just gotten the base instead. on the surface, this sounds crazy, but in everyday driving, i am only able to use about 60% of my macan s before i am breaking laws. in the base loaners, i can floor it more often and get the satisfying exhaust burbles to boot. also, the suspension setup feels exactly the same. it's a classic case of driving a slow car fast being better than driving a fast car slow.

Bought a ‘15 Macan Turbo just cause the Turbo is a hard flex and with a Cobb Tune it flies. Also the GTS caters more to a sporty customer, while the Turbo is a more subtle sleeper based off of the aesthetic factor

I just bought a 2021 Macan GTS, and I love it. I used to have a Macan Turbo. The GTS frankly is a smarter choice unless you live adjacent to an autobahn. The new car is as agile, as easily handled, and as comfortable as the turbo.

My mom has a Macan S because my dad is a Porsche-head and we needed a family car. I wanted her to get the X3 M Comp, but the Macan is nonetheless very luxurious and fairly comfy, sounds alright, and decently quick. Only complaint is gas mileage.

My wife had a Macan S on order and cancelled it as soon as the GTS was announced (early in 2020) and the engine was confirmed as being a de-tuned Turbo (vs up-tuned S like the prior model). Our GTS arrived in August and it's fantastic. A very good car overall. Biggest complaint is the visor not extending (as was noted in this review). As TheStaightPipes mentioned in the video, the engine was the #1 reason we made this change from the S.

Our family picked a heavily-specced 2020 Macan S (only missing the performance exhaust, which is a shame) and we love it. The engine in the base Macan didn’t feel quite strong enough, and that for the price premium, it was well worth the upgrade for the V6. So far, it’s everything we could want out of a small luxury crossover.

I have a ‘17 GTS. An absolutely fantastic drive that puts a smile on a face. To me the GTS IS the sweet spot, it comes standard with a bunch of options that the turbo doesn’t come standard with, and if you were to option out an S with similar options you end up better off with the GTS!
