Awesome Barbel fishing on the float! #Barbel #Trentbarbel #floatfishing
In the first episode of this two parter i head up north to the mighty river Trent and enjoy some truly spectacular Barbel and Chub fishing like ive never experienced before.
Big floats, big baits and big fish!
What a magnificent river the Trent is.

I saw the notification for this and set the reminder. Thats a venue on my bucket list. Never had the privelage of wading out and fishing the float. That looked amazing mate worth the 3 hour drive all day long

Great to see you back Paul and thanks for putting the effort in, that looks like hard work but well worthwhile. I can also agree that Medway tackle maggots are excellent 👍

Thanks for your continued support Micheal. I was exhausted but fulfilled after 3 days of that type of fishing! Next time im up there i will take a lure rod to mix it up a bit, loads of big pike there. Another video out on Friday which has been edited by my new editor. Looking good for Paul Vicary Fishing. Tight lines.

@@PaulVicaryfishing thanks Paul, need to catch up for a chat next time I’m up in Edenbridge. I’m trying to convince a tight-fisted Yorkshireman to give the Trent ago as our Wye trips are a bit of a struggle and any advice would be welcome. My round 👍🍺

Nice to see you back mate and full of enthusiasum again.Thats some spot . Two 3 day trips on the Thames so far for a 13.6 barbel from a spot i have not been able to get to for two years due to my health so extremely pleased. Also had 13 bream in two mornings including a 10.2 and 5 x 8lbers. Not every ones cup oftea but great fun on the tip in a weir pool.

Thanks for watching Mark, its on the Scunthorpe amalgamated anglers book. ( I'm sorry to be vague but its very uncertain territory naming waters so i generally don't, unless its a day ticket ) Tight lines.

@@PaulVicaryfishing exactly why I was vague but you already mentioned Newark and you managed to wade just after a weir. There are only so many weirs on the Trent and only 1 where you would be able to wade safely in the right conditions. It's a matter of having enough interest to find out.

@@mattydare It sounds funny but its just a bit to easy to say the names. ive trawled through videos trying to guess which spot it is, which i feel is all part of modern angling. ive had people guess my spots from videos via the noise of church bells and railway lines before! My PB Chub came after closely studying a video on you tube and walking the river until i found the spot. Myself and a good friend have a good old chin wag about just that thing. I'm guilty of catching hundreds of barbel but never on the float or rolling meat . I think it's a danger in barbel fishing that you can become a one trick pony.

@@PaulVicaryfishing my local rivers (in Yorkshire) would be absolutely ideal for this style of fishing. Unfortunately (and it seems to be quite common) I always use the exact same tactics for barbel on the premise of "if its not buggerd don't bugger it" mind you maybe I'm missing out on something else entirely. Really enjoyed your post mate looks like you had a really enjoyable time wich is why we go.
