Nate, I have a fun indoor challenge for you! While Abby is crawling the indoor course, you could use a camera drone to capture the action!! That would surely bring more fun to being stuck inside due to weather.

Great video guys! Dont have a crawler but this looks like so much fun! BTW on the steep inclines brush some white wood glue on the cardboard then sprinkle with something gritty like crushed stones (model railroad ballast), or even glue some sandpaper strips. I reckon you should cut the center out of the wobbly bridge so it has a gap long ways in the middle, will make it a cool challenge like the tubes :)

Mount the bumper onto the frame, notch the bottom for servo arm clearance, lower the shocks onto the tower frame mount, and add brass dif covers and wheel rings and she's good to go.

My son has a ton of Legos ! I could build a killer course for that scale with what he has! Killer little crawler ! Fun course y'all made! Stick a duster on the front and back and clean as you play! 👍👍👽😎⛄🎄🎅

Either get some power hobby shocks or take your stock shocks, stretch the springs to double the length, add a dab of carmex or grease inside the shock shafts and put them back together. Works awesome. It can go down hill without the bumps no prob. It runs on worm gears. Brass wheel hubs are also a must for balance. I'm sure you've figured all this out by now though this video is a bit old lol

The Rocksra Basher 24th scale would be the perfect competition for that Axial crawler.

Hey, Nate Losi did make a 1/10 th scale crawler that had worm gears . It acts like a full on drag brake . I really like the SCX24. I think I want one for Christmas (wich is also my birthday) even if I have to gift it to myself. Great course for the little truck.

I just picked up the yellow version of this yesterday, love it! If i had a single criticism it would be, that off brand 1/18 scale blue pickup had proper lights front and back, axial and other companies need to step up and do it right rather then just cheap out and drop them in a bumper. Can you imagine this thing with proper head and taillights, i had seen people use 1/24 scale model car bodies on the deadbolt scx24, so that gets me thinking, get a model of this jeep and maybe its parts could be used to adapt a properly looking light kit for it. This things a desk crawler through and through. Your course was great, the valley of "random desk clutter" and scaling mount "randomly placed dog blanket" are great fun with it as well, course i have a golden retriever so the dog blanket is a bit larger then what you would have. And Abbey, Popeye was the hazard, "Popeye hazards" are something completely different, and likely smell Oh, and if you have a 3d printer, look up 1/24 scale Micro Tractor Pull Sled on thingiverse, that could be super fun with these small scale crawlers, i found it while looking for light mounts

Bought one from my local hobby shop and I absolutely love it. Having a hard time deciding if this should be an indoor only truck or take it outside and get it dirty.

The Axial SCX24 is undeniably a fairly decent performer. The trouble is, if you are a fan of scale realism, the Jeep Wrangler body is a little bit lacking in detail. But actually there is now a huge variety of accessories available to help with this problem. I have taken a look at several of the most interesting ones in my new video. The worm gear axles are not new by any means. they solve some issues in mechanical design. Losi used them in some of their 10th scale class crawlers. This was also used in the tiny "Stomper 4x4" toy trucks from the early 80's. it allows exceptional gear reduction in a small space, and the nature of those the gears are engaged makes the worm gear reduction have a natural brake action. Downside is that there is no unpowered coast mode to them and the act of pushing one of these cars around can damage the axles if you ignore the fact that they don't want to turn. there have been some historic applications of worm gear drive in the auto industry. the Ford TT heavy work truck version of the model T was a worm gear drive and had a top speed of around 20-25 miles an hour. These are more often used in stationary drives like conveyor belts, industrial lifts, or in linear actuators like the "flap jacks" that extend wing flaps on air craft or the lift servos for outboard boat motors. one downside is that the flat shearing surface contact imposes a lot of wear and lubrication and lubricant choices can be a significant factor in how long these will last. Graphite, WS2, and MoS2, and PTFE/teflon fillers in grease make these common choices because they add a degree of surface separation.

You guys should try a panda hobby tetra x1. It’s not quite as good looking as this one but I’d like to see how they compare.

I saw one of these at my LHS yesterday. $120 isn't too bad. I think I want one. It looks so much nicer and more capable than my ECX Barrage FPV. How do they compare in your opinion? Can you use a 2s lipo in this Jeep?

I picked up one of these about a month before the pickup truck version came out, really wish i had waited but i do like it, just like the pickup more. However, i noticed on thingiverse that someone has posted proper headlights and taillights with covers even for this particular body on the scx24. thought i might pass it along, they made the lens covers that you can print in transparent red or clear for the headlights and taillights, as well as the buckets that go inside the body. No more lame bumper only lights

I'm not entirely sure but I'm pretty sure that the axial scx24 is mechanically identical to the barrage UV. Theres the obvious rebranding to axial for the electronics including the transmitter but as far as underneath the body and inside the tires it's an ECX. Especially with the worm gear type differential. Happy holidays-Derek

Great course. Just picked up both of the chevy c10 scx24s. One for my son and the other for myself. The trucks come with different tires than the jeeps. They are awesome tho. We built an indoor course too, but we took a rubber backed mat( to save the floor) and piled rocks up. Great video!👍

Lincoln Logs the toys the little wood pieces I took them and blue to bunch of them together with wood glue and made a little crawling course out of them
