Ahh yes the great sound of the EMD 710, one of the many prime movers that will have your spine rearranged after 12 hours 🤣

Never heard of any deaths from 710 prime movers.

@mikedorosz9574 i was referring to the fact that they vibrate the cab an ungodly amount when under load. Idk wtf youre talking about though smh

@@em2attic because not all 710's will shake the fillings out of your teeth.....a 645F will turn your body to mush...
@em2attic5 ай бұрын
@mikedorosz9574 645F are absolutely dreadful, but 710's are getting there the older they get. I can count on my hand the number of times where a 710 actually didnt rattle my brain out.

I don't if that's really a locomotive or an aircraft or a spaceship, but my god, that prime mover is music to my ears. The SD70ACE is the best sounding diesel locomotive ever. Starts off with the beeps, then roars to life like a dragon, then goes jet-turbine idle mode, and then here it goes nuts with the high idling.

Honestly sounds better than a class 66 (uses an EMD 710 V12) especially when the engine speeds up to build the air, nice bass rumble

I'm an EMD Prime mover for life ❤. The 645, 710 n the now SD 70ace are sweetness to the ear 👂. The SD 70 starting up is as smooth as a double whipped jar 🫙 of Peter Pan pb, unlike the GE clucking/knocking b'fore starting..GE does have a nice Loco though

@jaysmith14083 ай бұрын
Tremendous power theoretically independent of conditions. As long as there’s air in the tanks, it’ll fire. Could have been there an hour or a month. The power draw on an electric motor could be considerable, especially if the batteries have been sitting a while, just above freezing (would be worse below freezing, but with water cooling, they auto start to keep water temp up (if equipped) or just idle.
