These RC pilots did a great job on those cross wind landings. It really takes practice and scares the crap outta ya. I've seen more crashes at the field from pilots not understanding this skill. Great post as always! Also a good stabilizer also helps in these cases.

Collection is not complete because IMHO water landings are the very best. You get the approach, the touchdown, and the wake.

All (or most) of these landings are average Ryanair landings. Other than the first one because that is the best landing I’ve ever seen done on an RC Plane. EDIT: okay, 0:00, 1:17, 1:40, 2:20, 6:05, 8:54, etc are pretty good. I’ll keep adding to the list.

The object is to stall one inch above the ground, and touch down just as you bottom out the elevator stick. Yeah, easier said than done... Many of these landing were just too fast, but I couldn't do any better!!!

Half of them couldn’t stay on the runway on the grass. Across the pavement back on the grass with a ground loop. Looked like me when I was learning

Such nice planes! I think I saw a 310, a Cub, a Pawnee, a Decathlon a Partnavia, a Pitts, An RV... Was that a Stampe or a Tiger Moth that came in dead stick? That glider isn't RC! And there's a full sized Pawnee!! Hahahaha! Wow, great video. I've subscribed and looking forward to seeing more!

Yeah he's made that turn too fast and did you see it hop when he hit the grass. The best thing to do once It's landed is to give it up elevator to prevent it from nose flips...

Great video! The tip tanks on the Top Flight cessna 310 are tilted up way too much, and the nose is not shaped correctly. This is Top Flight's fault, not the model owner's. The way less expensive Dynam grand cruiser 310 is smaller/cheaper, but a much more accurately rendered model.

I don't know how much flying you have done but these things have a mind of there own... They were all good landings. A bad landing is when you do damage to the airplane and sometimes that can't be helped. Sometimes the wind can catch the plane just at the last moment and make them kick up..

T H I’ve been building and flying RC models nonstop for 38 years . I’ve had well over 80 flying models through the years . You can say I have an idea of whats going on . Most of the landings in this video just are no even close to “awesome “. Depending on the pilots skill level , they did very well getting em back on the ground and should be proud .

Pretty sure it flipped because 1. The speed it was going which would be like 10mph and add those winds if it was gustering of course it would flip 2. 1 of the wheels hit the grass while the pilot was turning, which causes the flip due to G force

obviously you dont fly rc models (other than foam) if you did then youll realise that the title means any model that lands safely in one piece is "an awesome rc landing" try flying built up large scale models then youll understand kosys

I’ve been flying RC airplanes since the late 80’s. Fly scale warbirds. Don’t be insulted.... I simply said they are everyday landings. Hardest plane I’ve owned to land is my Mustang. Tough to keep it from nosing over.
