The music industry is just like Hollywood. It's not about talent, it's about being in the right place at the right time. I was a singer on cruise ships for many years and I've seen players making $400 a week that could blow anyone out of the water on oire skill alone. To make it, you need to be a decent player who had the right look and can write sellable songs. Out of all of the talent that's out there, being a solid song writer will get you paid the fastest

@@jetskifisher7825 That's very debatable. There are a couple covers that I do that I personally think are improved in some way but how many other people would agree is not a point worth arguing. What I will say is, some people may play things cleaner for instance than a famous player played but the magic of a performance is not in how clean it is played, or how many fancy licks someone might add, it's the performance as a whole. There are some good Hendrix covers that are great, take Randy Hanson or several random people on Utube, that capture the tone, the bends are same, the attitude is good; but they didn't come up with that fantastic style or great songs and that's where the brilliance lies.
