I use a fluorocarbon leader just to be able to break off without stressing my outfit when I snag. I also find that a slight click when my Uni knot passes through my top guide is a signal that a last minute strike is possible, something that Coho seem to do regularly. It's remarkable how many mouth and spit out these spinners. Who knew? Cool video. Thanks for educating us.

Hey man I love the video! I use lures quite often here in Oregon for Salmon and Steelhead and am pretty successful using them. It is nice to see a video showing whats going on under the water. I've watched one for bobber and jig, but not lures. I almost always fish braided line, it has proven to land more fish for me thats for sure.

Well that throws the theory that Salmon strikes it prey from the side out the window loll 😂 I was about to rig up my Rapalas using the one treble in the centre but after seeing this video I'll be leaving on all well atleast two the tail end hooks and the belly hooks as seen in this video they strike the bait /lures head on.... Great footage I've been searching the net for age's and only in your footage you can clearly see the strikes.. Tight /line's from Ireland 🇮🇪 ☘ 🎣

You said it right there “when you feel the blade stop spinning” yes! Reel and hook set!

Love your videos JD, You could just place the hook a jaw with behind the spinner like a trout bead rig, The hook will get place on the jaw most likely and as soon as the fish tries to throw the spinner out the hook will anchor and you can set the hook, works great with circle hooks too , just need a longer tag
