In 2023, I am listening to this song with tears in my eyes. It resonates the sound of a period in my life when I will wake up early to walk a long distance out of our rented slum house to my secondary school with 20 Naira for feeding for the whole day. The song will be playing on every radio in people's houses, cars, busses, shops, etc. The song used to sound like a punishment for laziness and it sounds became the fuel that kept us going. Today, I am a University Lecturer, married to a University Lecturer. We both have this struggling experiences and both cried today while we played the sounds of this song once again. Music is truely life!!!! I am grateful for where I am today!!!!!

This song reminds me of all the suffering from my childhood going to the farm with my parents in edo state ekehwan barrack. But thank God for today I drive in my own jeep and other of my cars I wish my dad was alive to enjoy with me.. May God keep my mom so she can keep enjoying the fruits of her labor.. Every Monday morning our FM radio station 88.9 use to play this music then as young as I was then I will look to my mum how she was struggling for us to eat morning but don't know what we are going to eat in the afternoon Talkless of night then I got to promise my self that I will never lazy for once so I could make it in life and take care of my mum but am still pushing it though it will soon yield the best for me so my dream can come to pass when my mama still alive.

This song is magical, it goes straight into your soul and your heart. Sometimes you become emotional if not controlling your emotion, you will defiantly cry if you are from a poor background like me. The memory of struggling without parent is horrible, I lost them at aged 6 but I kept going through the wilderness all alone, books like Alawiye and other Yoruba historical books helped me. I also thank God who took me from nowhere to somewhere,

This song is making me feel nostalgic. Back then when I was young, this is the song my mom normally sing when she is getting us ready for school. When I grew up to secondary school level, whenever I'm still in bed, when I was supposed to be up, she sings this song. It's making me feel emotional 😭, Plus feeling the pain of the world of a poor background. But all thanks to God almighty, who has made me see this day. Long live beautiful Nubia.✌🏾

This song by beautiful Nubia reminds me of my childhood days at Ibadan though I was born in Lagos my primary school days was at Ibadan. I remember how we were being reminded everyday at home and by early radio talks and jingles and in school, not to be lazy and about punctuality and waking up early to face the days activities. Radio was the thing then in the 70's as FM system was being introduced and it sounded different from analogue system .I remember the different songs , folk songs on the dignity of labour and hard work. I remember telling myself as young as I was then to work hard and be focused for my parents especially my mum.I remember my early days at Ibadan vividly but totally different when I come back home to Lagos for the holidays. Then at Ibadan everyone goes somewhere to work, everybody works or you are seen as being lazy. I remember my primary school at Bodija, the lonely paths through to school and how I would run and run not to be late as songs like this rang in my ears about life, hard work, punctuality and the dignity of labour and my mum. Thank you Beautiful Nubia for this song as I get emotional every time I listen to it and I get nostalgic.
