What is permafrost? What happens when permafrost thaws? This animation answers these questions.
Scientists at the Alfred Wegener Institute conduct annual expeditions to the polar regions in order to understand the diverse processes in the permafrost an to precisely assess the impacts of it´s degradation.

Perma-Frost is a safety seal between the viral disasters that were, a long-long time ago and the world that hasnt had to deal with those monsters in sometimes, a millennia or more. And when it finally melts back, it releases all those dormant and deadly virus' again, into the unsuspecting world. A special thank you, goes out to all those med science curiosity seekers who have once more, rereleased some of those monsters into our world.

@jasonflitcroft2467
@jasonflitcroft2467 4 жыл бұрын
Climate change has always happened, it's a natural process thats cyclical, there's no such thing as a linear climate, there has always been cold and warm periods but they're over a time period greater than most human observations and modern instrument readings. Anyone who studies modern and ancient history could tell you that from studying societal changes over time. Yes, there is climate change but human made climate change is highly debatable. Until science can completely explain the multitude of glacial and interglacial periods that this planet has experienced over the course of millions of years (which they still can't), then their claim of 'the science is settled' over man made climate change using data from instruments from the last 250 years is quite frankly, ludicrous to say the least. Their long range weather forecasting (which uses the same computer modelling as climate change) can't even predict next winters weather to a high degree, surely that gives you cause for concern?
@supersaiyaman11589
@supersaiyaman11589 3 жыл бұрын
@@jasonflitcroft2467 by the time they can accurately predict everything it may be too late to reverse the damage human beings are doing. warming and cooling has bean happening a long time this is true but human beings are accelerating the warming. what we can see today is that tornados are getting worse and so is flooding and droughts are getting worse. how much evidence do human beings need before they say ok maybe we are contributing to global warming. were it becomes a real problem is corporations not wanting to regulate much carbon they put into the atmosphere is a real problem. co2 emisions to name one.
@supersaiyaman11589
@supersaiyaman11589 3 жыл бұрын
human binges are a large part of the problem the co2 emissions are not helping matters. lack of regulations on how much co2 is not helping either. We need more strict regulations on corporations to regulate their carbon footprint
