The casting directors that make you do weird things just want to see if you’re easy to work with and to see if you have a professional working attitude. I know someone who was told to do a monologue standing on her head.

Casting director: " Ok so tell be about yourself. " Me: " Well I have a brother.... Um and a dog... Casting director: " Ok.... Um... Do you have like a monologue or story you could tell us?" Me: " No..." They gave me lines and when I said them they said I did really good A few weeks later My mom: " You got the part!" Me: wHaT!?

I want to become an actor but the problem is I live in a country where like actors don't exist so I want to move to la when I am 18 but how do I get the money just to afford my living and for food??

Caroline Shane I am 15. the only way I can gain experience is by going on drama classes and that's what I am doing now. I will save my money until I become 20 then I am moving to L.A. and start my acting career

Aurelion Sol I live in Sweden and Im 13, I take drama classes and go on workshops, but theres no real auditions here. So when Im 17 Im go on an exchange year in London and when Im 18 I am going to move the UK

Ok once again amazing video, also really useful. Most of them happened to me like a lot of times. Also i have a question for you : What do you do if you messed up playing some role in the theater and you freeze, like i know you should cover it up and continue but sometimes i just freeze and feel like everything is spinning. I don't know if this happened to someone but it feels really awkward and unprofessional !!!!

What if you got the part for a movie or TV show but they are filming far away? Do you have to drive there everyday? Or do you have to move there?

CAROLINA 100 MSP No, not necessarily unless you'd like to/too. I'd just stay at a hotel or with family if there's any in a area.

For example, if you're shooting for a movie in LA, when you live in Florida, there are two ways you can do it. If it's a simple week-long shoot, you could just get a hotel and stay there. If it's for a month or many months, you might want to rent a house or live with someone you know that lives in the area.

I never really liked acting before but I've recently gained confidence and I'm now getting into acting. I've signed up to a few websites where they post casting calls. Your videos are really helpful with getting to know what happens at auditions, on set etc. Thank you Rachel for these :)

OMG! I couldn't relate to this more! I was at end of year placement audition and I got super nervous so I forgot a monologue so I refreshed my memory, but messed both up a bit. My teacher was still super rude about it though. Despite being good, and able to show her everything I have and the willingness I have to try, she still persisted to be really rude to me as I had tested and then with my friend! I couldn't believe it! Next time I ever see her I want to be a kickass actress that knocks her off her feet! If I do that, she can see what she had!

One time at an audition they said "let's do some improv" and since it was a pompous artsy guy they suggested I be doing some interpretive dance or something. I said I did yoga if that helped. One of them sarcastically said "can you do it with your leg behind your head" and so I did a four minute improv while my leg was behind my head. All for an unpaid three-line part.

I was trying out for a part in 5th grade "last year" and I tried to be all cool and say my line without the script and I forgot the last word.

This is a bit late but my first audition( which because I've only just started acting was my last one- which was like half a year ago) we had to sing a song and I had it really well , then when I started singing in the audition I realised I had a cold and my voice started cracking. It was so embarassing.but the only thing is that when I got home my parents were hyping me up saying I was gonna get it then it made me upset that I didn't get it 😂
