@@optic80 Yeah and no? Alan does the changes quite well but watch the keyboardist. How far back does "rasp" really go in recorded music? Joplin, Jagger, Stewart, Rogers, McCartney (a long list could follow) sang with "rasp" back in the 60s. And THEY had plenty of American Blues singers from the 40s and earlier to learn / "borrow" from... Ah well, I should just listen and maybe listen again, and celebrate the song and performance for what it is - beautiful and live.

It's the difference between those who like packaged processed donuts as opposed to an apple of the tree. If you grow up on donuts, the apple actually does not taste good and you think the natural fruit is bad. Awol is playing live - that's a real apple. Britney for example is packaged pretty and lipsincs for the last 12 years right - is totally processed - and some people just grew up on Britney. How fucking sad.

Michael Jackson used to lipsync most of the time from the 1980's til his death and we all know how good he was, live and in the studio. Most of the artists who do lipsync only do it because they have to dance or do something that makes singing uncomfortable and hard. And so what, Awolnation is singing live but it's not good at all.
