😆 I wish it was that easy. Cutting down trees like that is like trying to take down an apartment building! It took the men in that episode 50 plus years of back breaking, dangerous work to be able to take on trees like that. $3,500 sounds like a lot until you’re standing in front of them. I couldn’t do it.

Downing the trees is the easy part...it's the logistics involved in moving equipment, getting the site set up and actually being able to haul the logs out of there...anyone can take a tree down but only a few can find a way to fit them on a 18 wheeler and get them to flat ground

What exactly are the people in the comment section upset about? that they just cut down the trees? Do you also cry when boilling carrots? Trees this big aren't benificial to the enviorment, trees only consume Co2 and produce oxygen when they are growing. Trees this big actually use more oxygen than they produce. Also what do you think is worse? Thousands of heavy excavators and dump trucks pouring out Diesel fumes in order to make cement and bricks, or 3 guys with chainsaws?

You know.... thats a very simplistic interpretation on your part.... to not take this any further, by buying old restored furniture, you extend the use and its life, instead of buying new ones(make new ones from scratch takes a lot of time, money and energy in many ways). Just like when buying a car, it actually cost less money and energy (counting all the process that it takes to make a car from 0 in a factory) to buy an old car and let it die and then buy an electric one. Source of this info is the university where i’m studying, i study architechture with focus on sustainability, modesty aside. To be realistic, wood can be very nice when building, but for the sake of the future and the argument, better keep using concrete No need to be rude or angry btw, just saying Plus: think of all the time it takes to grow trees as big as the ones in the video men. Not worth to destroy
@karljermunson9910

@@Beingahumanbeing in Montana where I live logging companies are required to replant the area they log I cant say for sure about Washington but it is a standard practice. With the high amount of rain fall it takes about a hundred years to grow trees that size. I hope the last question isn't serious but I'll act like it is........mining is worse for the environment and there are very few mines that can produce all the ingredients for blocks or concrete so it requires multiple mining operations. Let's not forget about the chemicals that are required for the production of both or the chemicals required for the original mining.

Depends on who owns the land. If it's owned by a logging company they usually replant and harvest again in a 10-20 year time frame. If it's private land the landowner gets a cut of the profit from the trees. And what they do is up to them.

Not old growth timber. They're not only too small, but the Pacific Northwest is pretty good at protecting natural resources. In my home state, most old growth timber is protected by state law and the old growth that isn't directly protected is protected by roundabout ways such as road building restrictions or something of that nature. To call this stand old growth is strictly to make it sound scary for the viewer and that's all.
