11 жыл бұрынIn November 1996, Andrea and Sarah Brightman were invited to perform the duet 'Time To Say Goodbye (Con Te Partirò)' at the farewell contest of the German World Light-Heavyweight boxing champion, Henry Maske. A national hero held in unrivaled esteem, he is known for his love of selecting entrance themes to his bouts. Sarah Brightman, the internationally renowned soprano and friend of Henry Maske heard 'Con Te Partirò' in a restaurant while dining with her friends. Entranced by the singer and the song, Brightman made contact with Andrea. Andrea and Brightman re-recorded 'Con Te Partirò' as the duet 'Time To Say Goodbye' with members of the London Symphony Orchestra.
This live version is from Brightman's first full concert recording, "Sarah Brightman: In Concert", from London's Royal Albert Hall with the London Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Paul Bateman. Guest artists include Andrew Lloyd Webber, Adam Clark and Andrea Bocelli. The concert was released to video in 1998.
The concert was directed by David Mallet.

Still listening in 2024! My Daddy was in love with Sarah Brightman. He used to say " if she was my girl, I'd be penniless". We grew up in a house of music, Opera, John Denver, Stevie Wonder, Niel Diamond, Journey, Elton John, Jonny Cash, Ella Fitzgerald. We played this song at my Fathers funeral in 2003, miss you Daddy.

YES, SHE IS OUTWARDLY BEAUTIFUL. And that is what most of us "see' when we look at her. Imagine being sight-blind and unable to "see' those qualities of beauty. HE would need to rely on some other sense of determining "beauty" in a woman. I believe both His and Her interactions were more than practiced AFTECTATIONS. They both held each other in DEAR regard. Simple; Honest and Pure of Heart. That IS the magic.

I apologise for making yet another comment. Sadly I have been in hospital for far too long in the last few months, was close to dying twice, such is life ! I just watched this again, whilst my physical health is dire fortunately, as yet, my grey cells seem to be working. Once again this made me shed a few tears, it really moves me. I am almost 60 years old and have never had a woman look at and touch me like she did to him, This performance makes me so happy and so sad at the same time. It is almost over now, so maybe in the next one. If you have seen that look from a partner, you were blessed. If you still see it, reflect on how truly lucky you are. Not everyone has.

I worked as a musician on the Grand Princess in 98 and they would blast this song out from the ship whenever we would depart Venice. It was the biggest cruise ship in the world at that time, so the port would be crowded to watch us leave. But more than that, GORGEOUS song! I learned how to play it, of course.

It is Sept 2020 and almost 3 years since my Father passed away. This version was played at his funeral and I have not watched or listened to it since that day. Watching now I have tears of great memories and of a wonderful man.

I remember singing to this song with my parents and sister as we drove back from mexico in an RV, it was the early 2000s. You could see the sun setting over the coastline. There were so many shades of orange that filled the sky that it felt like you could feel the warmth through the side windows. Even as I think about it now it feels like an old dream of family love and youth.

I have this fabulous music recorded since 2000....just saw it again now on 20 May 2024. Both SB and AB make such heavenly music together. Con Ti Partir was their best signature song. Understand that AB is still managing with his tragic football accudent eye problem...and SB would be in a stellar role in Sunset Boulevard in Melbourne sometime in May 2024. My grandmother had this played at her funeral, she was not Italian but her husband was Italian. She kept her ring from his death in the 80’s and kept it ever since even during Dementia, she remembered his spirit during that period and made it adamant that this song be played during her funeral. It was played during the caskets departure to the hearse. God bless her she stayed loyal to Pasquale to the end. Today this song makes my mother cry every time. For me it holds great sentimental value.

their chemistry I agree is amazing - however, this version at the time wasn't a timeless classic having only been first performed in 1995, one year before this performance. It has now tho most certainly become a classic.
