Wow! BIG hitting by both of these guys. Impressive!
@BradMason20144 жыл бұрын
Smith relied on that big serve, but against a guy that gets a lot of balls back in play; it just isn't as effective. Clearly when Geller forced him to rally he didn't like that. Smith is used to being able to hit through guys and doesn't handle the short balls or off speeds as well. Great spot serving by Geller too. Great match.

Watched smith play a while back. He was great. Looks like these last two sets....something went south

Probably mental strength. You can see little signs of mental frustration and rushed gameplay near the end. Regardless his serve is awesome and worth studying.

USA men's college tennis play netcord lets---too many receivers used to call lets when the serve was an ace so the rule was made to eliminate such calls

:30 ball was out and ump did not have the visual perspective to overrule
@unathleticremi4 жыл бұрын
cleanplasticchild so what shots do the umps have the perspective to overrule?
@cleanplasticchild4 жыл бұрын
Remi Barron The judge doesn’t have the visual angle is what I mean. That was an emotional overrule.
@unathleticremi4 жыл бұрын
@@cleanplasticchild Right, but do you think the judge has the visual angle to overrule anything? This was right on the baseline and in clear sight. What lines can he call?
@cleanplasticchild4 жыл бұрын
Remi Barron Yeah, I think some more than others. ...but I see your point. People make mistakes.

what is the point of a chair umpire if you aren't going to overrule that
@mrvg12344 жыл бұрын
at 0.25 speed it looks out
@awateilrahc4 жыл бұрын
Legolas Dixon they don’t overrule, have to be asked by player if it is in or not for an overrule to occur
@JohnSmith-xn3yf4 жыл бұрын
You're blind. Slow it down in 0.25 speed, very clearly out. So many people don't understand that the camera angle which is right behind the players is the WORST angle for seeing whether a ball is in or out. Add on to that the fact that this is 30 or 60 fps only. The ball was clearly out. If you had taped yourself playing tennis before, you'd understand.

I'm sorry but axels fans need to calm down a little. it's fine when he hits a winner, but when his opponent makes a mistake? that's just not okay. poor behavior from adults.

Was inside the line on the blue. Glad she overruled it. Most umps in college too scared, encourages the cheating like at Wake Forest.
@JohnSmith-xn3yf4 жыл бұрын
Horrible umpire. Ball at 0:30 was quite clearly out(and I'm a Stanford fan, so I'm unbiased). Should not have overruled the call, it was out, not a cheat.

Lol you know theres a playback speed option on youtube right? ball was inside the line.
@MrFunkywhale2 жыл бұрын
@@NPC-rq9tp I know this is a year later, but with playback speed, you can see the ball out or, MAYBE BUT DOUBT, it caught like a cm of the outside of the line. How you can see it inside the line is beyond me.
