Not the reason those Motors fail. They fail because they have a sticker completely wrapped around them containing the Heat. Remove the sticker and all sticker residue and the motor will last for a long time. These motors need a heatsink not a sweater.

The best thing you can do with the stock motor is rip it out and throw it away.

Servo as well if you do any upgrades with weight. Blew the motor and the next day after I got the new motor my servo spazzed out and died lol.

Rtg 050 high power brushed motor. Bangood. They're cheap as, just a couple of mods to make them fit. Redrill motor mount opposite and cut 1 battery tray support, heaps of video to show you how to do it. I bought 3 motors and still have 2 waiting for the first one to die after a year. Burnt out 3 stock motors in a month I think before changing over

I made a copper sleeve with cooling fins for my motor. It barely gets warm anymore. Even just a piece of copper touching the motor will dissipate quite a bit of heat.

I burned out my stock servo because I overtightened some of the steering components 😫 Live and learn. The emax servo I dropped in is far better, anyway.

It's better to not use Loctite on your wheel nuts. If you don't have enough threads to engage the nylon locking insert and the nuts come off on their own, simply install the nuts in reverse with the nylon inserts going on first.
@Voyajer.6 ай бұрын
Loctite also damages nyloc nuts anyway

Just get the rid of stock axles and buy some Injora +4 ones. They’re not perfect either but this problem do not exist even if you tight the bolt a lot. I got mine with +4 axles, Yeahrun CVDs l, axles hex extensions with 45g brass wheels and injora tires. Changed the original crap with a 050 66T and runs like a charm. Stock axles are junk. They won’t let you turn as it should and put extra stress on the already underpowered motor. Let’s face the truth: stock SCX24 need a truckload of upgrades to run fine.

Nice video, to make sure I understand all variables, does it matter if it’s stock wheels? Stock 7mm plastic hubs or brass upgrades?
@robertfrancis94393 жыл бұрын
There are no variables. It has nothing to do with anything BUT the wheel nuts. Simply don't over-tighten them.

Is there any truth to this......cause I feel like if I ask a rc group they will say as long as it's not gorilla torque tight it has nothing to do with the motor failure.
@MofoRC2 жыл бұрын
Yes you want the most power and best motor life leave the tires loose to free spin. If you notice it 1/10 rigs they don't have this problem its a design flaw. When you tighten the nut all the way it squeezes the hex nut against the bearing and causes negative strain on the motor
@craig35762 жыл бұрын
@@MofoRC if you sanded the hexes so that they wouldn’t rub the bearings would you be able to tighten them all the way?
@wingnutbert96852 жыл бұрын
@@craig3576 Realizing this is 5 months old.......Bearings have two rings. Inner and out races. Depending on which one you want to stay still and which you want to rotate determines the fix.

I prefer to have loose nuts. The bottom line is Axial is just plain bottom of the barrel junk. No quality control and the cheapest parts are used. So far 3 trucks and all 3 have had something wrong out of the box. No more Axial for me. My Panda Hobby trucks has run longer and stronger than all of my Axial combined. I paid for a product to use not be repaired or sent back.

Wow, bad luck. I've built 5.of the little guys, every single one worked perfectly before I tore them all apart and built serious machines from them. And almost every comp crawler I've seen win a class 1 or class 2 event has been built off of an Axial. Hmmm
@wingnutbert96852 жыл бұрын
@@brianellison3525 I guess if his nuts are that loose, it makes them less functional and an easy target for painful, repeated failure. But a good lesson not to stick your loose nuts in your own axial...................
