Colwin, this is my favorite way to celebrate COVID isolation. I go back to school with you; remember what I've forgotten; go out to the hobby shop; realize that I need to go back to class; then start the cycle over again. I'm certain that I join many in thanking you for your pleasant contribution to the world of turning.

Hi Colwin, I just looked at this again. Is there any possibility that you could re-record this with your updated cameras, to improve on the presentation quality. Excellent tips on your skew chisels and sharpening!

Great lesson on using the skew; a tool that I am afraid to use and one necessary to turn wood well.

Excellent tutorial really enjoying the series it's just a shame the camera was out of focus throughout the video and much of it was unwatchable is there anyway you can tell while filming if it is in focus. Best regards Andy

Hello Colwin.love the way you talk us through the various aspects of the different tools and how to use them .can you please tell me ,how tall are you and what is the height of your lathe to the centre of the chuck ,as I think my lathe is a bit high for me at 5,7 . Would really appreciate your view. Thank you ,,,,,Doug

@axminster 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Doug, thanks for your message. The following reply is from Colwin - "I can tell you the height of my lathe, which is 1150mm. However, the most important thing is to have it the right height for you which generally is measured by your elbow height when stood straight to the centre height of the lathe."

Really enjoying this series of skill videos, I would love them even more if the images were sharp and not constantly going out of focus. I think I am right in believing that you are using an iPhone or similar, has it got a focus lock as it seems to be continually hunting for focus especially when shavings are flying off the tool. Anyway I will still continue watching because I am learning a lot even through the fuzz.

I’m finding these videos really useful but please could you change how you title them, as KZfaq truncates the titles so all I see are dozens of videos titled “skillscenterathome - live turning Tuesday - turning a...” which it makes it very challenging to find the video you want.
