I have two golden glow gene axolotls and they don’t move very much only when they are hungry. Their tank also has to stay at a colder temperature so if you live somewhere warm you need to buy a chiller which is expensive. They also get themselves stuck in the oddest positions. Sometimes if they take on too much air they float on the surface and look like they are dead because they will fall asleep like that. The water quality is wonky a lot because they are messy so you have to check for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate at least every second day. You also have to do a 25 percent water change each week. They also might bite you if they think your finger is a worm, not that it would hurt anyways. They are cute but not a very active pet.

I do have two of my own, a second time axolotl mom, but we should still preserve what is still left of the wild.

Pink axolotls are breed in captivity while black axolotls are found in the wild as much pink axolotls are not the type we should focus on saving its the black axolotls there wild cousins
