The bulk of the leftist forces in the Spanish civil war was backed by the Soviet Union where they got the majority of their tanks. And as the war progressed in Spain and the nationalists won victory after victory, the liberal leadership of the republicans was ousted for a more far totalitarian left wing one until they eventually capitulated. Us Americans arn’t dumb and we are the greatest nation on earth ?
