Wasn't there a wish Wasn't there a dream Somewhere? Wasn't there a world One with better days Waiting for us out there Somewhere? Wasn't there Something sacred Something to give us hope? Are there still miracles? Or will all the graces of God Forever fall to the shame Of man? Can anybody help me change The things that I see? If I could make wish If I could find a dream Somewhere If there was a world One with different days Waiting for us somewhere Out there If there was a light Something sacred Something to give hope Would we find miracles? Or would the faces above Forever frown upon the shame Of man? Can anybody help me change The things I've seen? I always forget the lyrics. here it is.

Anime (as with all art forms) is best when it has something to say. The minds behind this series understood that. Sadly, the more thoughtful series generally go under the radar, and do not get the attention the deserve.

I used to like this type of smooth and bluesy jazz. That includes the Kenji Kawasaki River of Crystals or ballads like Pearl by Ilaria Graziano. I even dig these types of anime that contain tragedy. But I've reached 40 years old now; I still like the vibe, but I prefer to be happy. Like this song, for example, she is really on the brink of losing God's grace and questioning things. All I can say is that you're responsible for your own happiness. Neville Goddard and Rhonda Byrne changed me so much that I live my life without attachment to sadness. I can at times, but I choose to be happy and free from all of these worries. I manifested tonnes of things and am freaking happy now. God was never to blame. It is us.
@AyaTeien Жыл бұрын
I completely understand. This anime was the pinnacle of art for me when I was ~14, watching other philosophically heavy shows like Lain, Haibane Renmei, Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, GiTS, etc. It was probably just a manifestation of my wild hormonally driven misery at the time, among other familial things. I do love it, and it still remains one of my favorites, but I'm a little more mellow now. Yoko Kanno changed my life with some of those anime osts, esp featuring Ilaria Graziano and Steve Matthews. I'm happy you're happy now!

Wolf's Rain and Ergo Proxy are also a favorites, although Wolf's Rain is more nostalgic for me. I suppose the thing that relates them all is the destruction of one old world and the creation of another. Save that Texhnolyze isn't so forgiving.

I did not regret losing hours of sleep to finish this lastnight although ig i can say i wasnt expecting that ending , i still found it suitable for a show unique like texhnolyze.. man was i stuck in my thoughts thinking how deep this show really was considering that the message portrays that death should be accepted with open arms and finding purpose in life
@NuclearDuckie02 Жыл бұрын
Death should be accepted? What I got was that humanity needs to accept its violent tendencies, because in trying to "evolve" into purely passive beings we would lose what makes us human. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (the manga not the film) has a similar message.
@NuclearDuckie02 Жыл бұрын
There was something aesthetically disgusting about the people who lost their bodies to become immortal "shapes" but I felt this was left tonally ambiguous, while the original separation of humans into one society of passivity and one of aggression was clearly condemned.

This song perfectly encapsulates the deep sorrow of a catholic monarchist observing the modern world - its shallowness, its soullessness... will all graces of God forever frown upon the shame of man? It reminds me of Nietzche's "God is dead" text: "God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?"

To be completely honest, I didn't like Texhnolyze very much. I loved the first ten or so episodes, but I really hated where they took it from there. I feel like a lot of questions that should have been left to the audience were answered poorly, like how Onishi hearing the city's voice was really Ran. I also felt like the antagonist's motivations weren't super fleshed out and just generally didn't like it after the halfway point. That said, it really does have a fantastic soundtrack. I keep listening to it despite my feelings about the show itself.
@Maru963 жыл бұрын
Kano is probably the worst part of it, but I like most of the rest.
@_Digishade_3 жыл бұрын
Regarding Ichise's motivation, he doesn't really have any outside of Ran, and this makes sense for his character. Onishi rightfully identifies Ichise as a wild animal. Ichise gets taken advantage of by Doc once she's given the go-ahead to Texhnolyze him, and he finds himself easily manipulated as a result, even up until the end when he loses all power whatsoever. By the time the end rolls around, he's just a dog with a dead master.
@MusabNaveed2 жыл бұрын
Really? I liked it all the way through, I thought the episodes where they explore the surface were probably the most interesting out of the entire show and the way they ended the story of the city of lux was extremely fitting and concluded the story in the best way it possibly could.
@MusabNaveed2 жыл бұрын
Maybe the mid-section was weaker comparatively but it honestly felt pretty consistent all the way through and the final 4-5 episodes were suberbly brilliant.
