It's going to be interesting to see what JR West does with these withdrawn 381 EMU's. I think they'll either be relegated to peak season service (New Years holidays, Golden Week, and Bon festivals) or some will be refurbished and transferred to Yonago in Shimane Prefecture to operate on the _Yakumo_ service between Okayama and Izumoshi Stations.
