The first Showman to stage a funfair at the Racecourse in Ayr was Charlie Horne, back in 1987, which included Springtime visits and visits during the busy September Race Weekend in the days when there was a lot more space on Racecourse Property!
Every year since, he has continued to provide a first class funfair for the people of Ayr, for the last two weeks in March.
Irvin Stringfellow also started bringing his funfair to Ayr Racecourse in September in 2010, after the loss of his Traditional September funfair site at Heathfield Rd.
Frank Codonas grandson Billy Hammond operates his funfair in the Racecourse in November, for the Hospice Firework Display, for one night only.
