We dip our toes into one of the next songs in "The Frame" saga with "Everybody Dies", the third song/story from The Source. Arjen brings together such a phenomenal cast in a breathtaking and awe inspiring tale of an AI bent on destruction, and the last living humans on Alpha trying to escape with their lives. Will they?
Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Ayreon performing "Everybody Dies" for the first time LIVE.

Hi Elizabeth, it's been a year since our last Ayreon video, and I loved this performance. This is my first time listening to M. Mills, and his vocal range was incredible. This is the first time I've heard this song, and I agree with Elizabeth that the rhyming rhythms are really catchy. I didn't hear Deep Purple with the organ, though; it reminded me of Styx' Fooling Yourself. And the backup singers keeping up with the tempo reminded me of the precision of the syncopation and arpeggio from Oogie Boogie.

For more Ayreon: The ENTIRE Album *The Human Equation* :D . It's a musical master piece, as always, and it has a really interesting story where most of the singers portray emotions! But since a whole double album might be a bit much, here's a few recommendations from said album. I believe they performed it live, but I'd recommend the album versions here, since they feature all of the original singers: *Day 2: Isolation* (a long, great intro to the story and an epic song with many singers, including James LaBrie and Irene Jansen) *Day 3: Pain* (features Devon Graves as Agony and a certain Devin Townsend as Rage) *Day 12: Trauma* (dark and moody, with a great "duel" between Reason (Eric Clayton of Saviour Machine) and Fear (Opeth's Mikael Akerfeldt)) *Day 16: Loser* (Devin going insane and absurdly good drumming) Another great song from a different album (Into the Electric Castle): *The Castle Hall*

I would love to see Aryeon Isis And Osiris from the 2019 Tilburg show here. This song comes with some singers who were not on this channel yet like Damian Wilson, who is amazing and also has John de Lancie (aka "Q" from Star Trek) as show narrator. His Intro to the show which is the beginning of this song is the envy of all D&D DM for ever. That is how you want to start a campaign. Also Anneke van Giersbergen, Simone Simons as main and Diane van Giersbergen and Marcela Bovio as backup singers and several more.

For more Mike Mills I would definitely recommend checking out Ayreon - Day Sixteen - Loser (Universe live). The way he is playing with his voice in this one is simply outstanding for me. I don't have much experience with this acting-like singing, so I've never seen somebody to convey like 4 different moods in like 6 seconds so effortless and on point. I imagine that getting top-notch vocalists and musicians might be less difficult for Arjen than expected. In all these live performances there seems to be one overriding aspect ..... they all seem to have tremendous fun together. Just look at the big grin on Mike's face when kneeling between Tommy and Hansi during their first "dialog". I know, they're all professionals, but even then they look as having a nice trip to a musical theme park. Probably the largest obstacle for these live performances probably are their schedules. The role of Diplomat - here very well performed by Maggie Luyten - is originally played on TDTWBD by the clean-voiced Michael Erikson as a foil to the voice of Russel Allen as "the President". My guess would be Michael had previous engagements which he couldn't cancel or reschedule.

Mike mills sang Wuthering Hights in the original key once, that really shows off his skills I think. And from this same concert he also sang the theory of everything with Marcela Bovio (the girl on the right in this video in the choir). That was my best song of the universe show :)

First time I heard Mike Mills was on the querky, yet commercial sounding and extremely catchy "How Do Ghosts Work". I said "Wow this is really good!", second time was him singing Kate Bush´s "Wuthering Heights" in the original key. I said "wow, this guy can sing really high", third time was him doing "Bohemian Rhapsody" alone, singing all parts and strumming an aucustic guitar. I said, "wow this guy is clearly nuts"! I really love Mike Mills and Toehider. He´s doing streams on Twitch pretty regularly where he sings all sorts of ditties, many by request. Funny thing about that band is that Mike Mills does everything musically speaking, the other guy - Andrew Saltmarsh - is an artist who does all the artwork and also draws during their Twitch streams as Mike is singing and playing. Anyway I urge anyone who has not heard Toehider to look them up! It´s pretty brilliant! As for particular songs, I´d recommend Elisabeth and all her nerdier fans to check out the Skyrim inspired power metal romp "How Much For That Dragon Tooth?" kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gr2Af5CqsNe7d3k.html

So glad you finally got to this brilliant piece. First time I heard it I thought "Gilbert & Sullivan" and I smiled very largely when you did as well. As a writer and poet, to write something that flows this well and is so compacted is pure brilliance. Lisette was off the charts in the background. -hitting notes only dogs could hear. Also loved the reference to Freddie when talking about Michael Mills ... he's about as close as one could come. Maggie is also very capable of singing different styles. So much talent in one place could possibly upset the balance of the universe.

I LOVE Toehider. I would recommend just starting with the most recent, the album "I LIKE IT" released in 2020. The entire album is a smorgasbord of styles, with stuff from heavy speedy metal to folksy stringed acoustic instruments to weird proggy stuff with almost no way to describe it! He has more than a few video playthroughs of his songs off this album on his channel with him playing every instrument (and he's really good at those too). Maybe start with "How Much For That Dragon Tooth?"

I think the best part about Ayreon as a project, in my opinion, is ho wmuch fun everyone is having. You can have the best singers in the world, but if they don't like what they're doing, it will show immediately. Everyone on this stage has been a part of at least one or two of his projects before, some being on multiple albums. The fact that they keep coming back, and even come to do rare performances together says so much about Arjen's work ethic and their interactions. I just really, really love seeing super talented and amazing performers getting along and making such incredible music together. It just fills my heart. I tried thinking of another Ayreon song to reccomend, but there's just so many great songs, so I'll let others in the comments reccomend instead and support each and every one of them.
