The number of people who turned up to this funeral (3,000,000) 2,000,000 more than the number of people who turned up to Princess Diana’s funeral just tells you all you need to know about the late great Ayrton Senna R.I.P legend 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🏆🏆🏆

You know something, ZX, this is always what I try to explain to those who didnt know him. It was huge, and I took 3 days off my final year of high school. The loss is felt greater every year, although I suspect I somewhat ask for that too, I dont ever want this wound to heal, I suspect. It creeps up on me, the emotion, but temp it alot too...haha I could not see Senna in the theatres, I would be sobbing like my mum had just died, decades after he passed on.

I just can’t believe it’s been 30 years. I was watching the race with my Dad as a 16 year old. Three decades later I am a Dad myself yet I can remember that weekend just like it was yesterday! *Senna Sempre* 🇧🇷🏁

Despite never being a Senna fan, I have to recognise his utter will and absolute bastard determination to drive a car at over 100% and be able to get away with it. Still rightly regarded as being at the top table of drivers nearly 30 years later. Not sure Max V would cope with him on the grid, few could...

I doubt that. In fact, I don't think he'd be in F1 post-1999.

Very poignant to see Imola in the depths of winter months after Senna’s crash. So calm and still. The opposite of that frightful day in May 1994.

Senna is not only the standard of formula 1 racing, he is also the standard of courage, sheer determination, competitive spirit & edge & also capable of knowing when to switch on and then switch off. Senna was a driver who truly respected his opponents skills and abilities. Senna was all about pure speed, timing, strategy & adapting, knowing & understanding the cars strengths. He also learnt the cars weaknesses to use them or take advantage.

#RIPRatzenburgerApril30th #RIPAyrtonSennaMay1st That weekend in the *San Marino GP 1994* was a sad and tragic way to attempt to enjoy the *F1* raceway. It should have been 🛑 right after the first time that somebody had died, it would have *prevented* all of us from losing such a *Precious Gift* to the world!!! ~ JonseyG 👲💖😿

Senna was the first REAL BASTARD in Formula One, slamming the door on each and every driver resulting in multiple accidents with many many drivers from 1984 onwards. On top of that he always tried to force the overtaking maneuver with that crap of "if there's a gap I will going for it" and such things. All the drivers from the period hated him because of what he did on the track. He was involved in accidents with almost everybody: Prost, Mansell, Piquet, Keke Rosberg, Alboreto. Nannini, Patrese, Berger, etc. Ask Martin Brundle what Senna did in the British F3. Unfortunatelly this way of driving made a mark and then Michael Schumacher copycated this same way and style of driving, then Hamilton did the same and now Verstappen. Since many years ago up to now almost everybody has that same reckless and ruthless style of driving, slamming the door NO MATTER WHAT. Martin Brundle always says: "Senna let you decide if you want and accident or not because, no matter what, he was going to slam the door on you. ALWAYS". The most stupid slamming by Senna was the one he made on Nigel Mansell's Ferrari at Estoril in 1989 when the british driver was already blackflagged. That was always the Senna way. Not to mention crashing at the start of the Japanese GP in 1990 against the back of Alain Prost's Ferrari at nearly 250 km/h with the whole cars coming from behind. That was certainly an act of insanity. I mean...if he wanted to crash on purpose against Prost he could've done it at the chicane on the first lap with almost zero risk. On the contrary he decided to do it right at the start of the race at nearly 250 km/h. Crazy guy this Senna.
