We need more doctors like you. Most people dont apply their logic with anything and fall victim to the influncial advertising of profit oriented corporations. Already following this great practice since past few years and i feel much better.

Rogi eats thrice, bogi eats twice and yogi eats once. As per oriental way of life,if we get up at 4 and at 9 you can have meals of the day, thats how we grew up, eating outside the home,canteen were absent ,lunch a curd rice box, and yes we eat amlajujube,wild berries, fresh imli,mango,guava, all unprocessed,a bite till evening. It is again a balanced meal after school,before sunset,so when we go to bed your stomach has digested the food. Now, they live to eat.Rush to Gym for burning up the fat,but are burned out with super rich foods,supplements,egg..All unsuitable for the Indian sedentry life. And deliberate fasting helped burn the fat and endurance. But the American Breakfast,quantity of food marketing of ceteal from their region invaded our thinking

This body we have is a part of nature and we have to take care of it as it the the only instrument we have to deal with this world. Exposing this to all sorts of bad habits and unnatural elements will obviously ruin it

Hii dr my name is leenkeshvaran now I'm studying 11th standard I also want to became a ayurvedic doctor in future this idea came to my mind after my 10th and I want to study ayurveda for not only money For my healthy life and to keep our surroundings , friends,relatives etc..to live a healthy lifestyle and diet And I want to adapt myself to nature I have idea in doing research about Ayurveda and old food habits And i love to organic agriculture like you I must achieve something and help many people in the society and prevent them from many diseases and I'm also usually eat old food culture so I have some love in siddha and ayurveda so pls suggest me that taking ayurveda courses is good for future....because i was in confussion I expect in future most of them will consult Ayurveda only.....pls reply

Im in my weight loss journey. But 2days back my dad cooked fish fry. I ate and put on weight back that i burned for the whole week (0.5 kg) so i was upset and didn't have next day's breakfast. Surprisingly I have reduced 0.4kg the next day. I was shocked and started skipping breakfast. Now per day I'm losing 0.2 to 0.3kg including regular walking and workout. Since I'm skipping BF. My mother hubby started screaming. But now I'm relief. Thank you so much doctor.

The west has influenced us Indians so much that we have changed all our food habits and accepted the processed foods and then again fall prey to their diets and BS... could you please let me know if we can have our morning filter coffee with little sugar and milk ? Started to have just two meals a day!! Best !!

What do we say in the west? Our habits have changed also, haven't they? We used to eat healthy fresh produce you know... twice a day for many working people, meat only on sundays. I think what has chanced us is industrialisation and capitalism, not "the west".

To answer in one word, laziness. Because of the advancement of technology we could easily prepare the batter and store it in fridge. Everyone finds it convenient to do it this way. But no one thought about the health

The ideal time would be around 11am for lunch and actually speaking second meal at 5,and going to bed after sunset. But considering today's work environment and the invention of electricity we can make it 7..

It's always nice, ever since I remember I get hungry in the middle of the day and then in the evening. I never feel the need for breakfast. And if so, a glass of juice or some fruit will do the trick.

This is really interesting..To share a most imp info to you...we are a very big family of 11 and the last person n our family is now 50.Till the time we hv all grown...we hv never knew what is breakfast..we used to hv Lunch by 10 to 11 or by 1 when On work and dinner by 8PM.No tiffin etc in between used to be der.well may b financial viability was also der. But whenever such 2 meal of a day was in practice...no lifestyle diseases ...abd no one was even touching normal weight...closer to normsl weight.Inbetween it only used to b coffee or tea.I strongly feel this generation s lifestyle diseases are purely coz of Sufficiency and more in food and not on deficiency..

After the age of 5 two meal plan can be practiced. How ever if they are every hungry we can feed them with cooked breakfast which contains whole grains like Pongal, puttu, palaya arisi etc.. if they are good with this intermittent fasting, then we’ll and good

I has digestion problem, loss of appetite, i started following 2 meals and few fruits as breakfast, that helped me a lot. but lifestyle and work i cannot eat at 11 and 5pm, instead i eat lunch at 1pm and dinner at 8pm. i would like to consult you sir regarding my other health issues as well i will write to ayurish center to get appointment

Thank you for an informative video. I usually was fasting for 16h a day. Until I saw somewhere that drinking a cup of beetroot juice with cinnamon in the morning is good for combatting cholesterol and for a range of other benefits. So I still have a single meal a day at 13h00. And a fruit smoothie around 5 pm. Can you recommend whether it is wise to go on with the beet juice?

Having beet root juice is definitely not recommended for everyday. It’s rich in glucose and harmful to the body of you take everyday. Generally eating the fruit is better than drinking it. And are you adding milk in the smoothie?

@@AyurshiAyurveda Thank you for informing me and for the prompt reply. I will cook and eat beetroot hereon. But for the juicing, I was only juicing one beetroot, and adding water to make it a cup. As I was aware of the glucose content. To answer your question regarding smoothie: I sometimes add yoghurt in smoothie. Sometimes it's only fruit. Do you have a recommendation? I will really appreciate. I have always tried to follow a healthy lifestyle and all advice is welcome. :)

@@DrUHira Beet root, even cooked must not be consumed in more quantity or more frequently. Adding any milk product with fruits is a big mistake.

Sir i have a question! What about fruits? Fruits are considered healthy. How do we incorporate fruit if we skip breakfast. ayurveda says if you have fruit best to have it early in the morning? If i can skip it and be fine i would be happy to do it. Perhaps enjoy time to time? I am kapha and always feel horrible. Please share your thoughts on this sir! Thank you very much! Intermittent fasting means there should be difference of 14 to 16 hours between two meals....as if we take dinner at 9 o'clock then we should take breakfast next day at 11 or 12 o'clock

These timings are more appropriate for business category people or home people where they have convininece to have meals as per their schedules. For most working class people lunch breaks are apprx at 1PM. Till then person goes mad without food.. What works best with experince is have wholesome brealfast and lunch and your need for dinner auotmatically goes down where in we can take very light meals or just milk would suffice.. This way.. it allows us get up early without lethargy and when get up early,, there is sufficient time for excercise and yoga.. after that person naturally feels hunger and assimilation also is more and i feel when we dont have meals in morning.. we tend eat more in the evenings which increase lethargy and kapha dosha.

Fasting is always useful. As much as possible. Including 16 hrs intermittent fasting. Gives so much boost n recovery to the body n mind.

Hello sir, thanks for strengthening my belief !! I wanted to ask that we generally have 3 kinds of food, fruits, vegetables and grains...!! Now it is said we should eat the fruits alone ie (should not add anything with fruits and should not add fruits to anything). And later we have lunch and dinner which mainly has grains like rice dal millet roti etc. So if we accommodate fruits as well, technically we are having three meals a day. But how can be accommodate fruits in our diet without breaking the law of having 2 meals per day..?? Awaiting your response sir 🙏 thanks again

It’s simple. Don’t count fruits. Technically speaking fruit is not considered a meal. Since 90% of fruit is water it’s just a snack. Healthy, nutritious snack just to postpone your appetite to your lunch

Wait a minute , one shoe does not fit all . What about those who do heavy manual work or are on their feet all day . .? And those who are elderly they cannot skip meals especially protein which is vital to maintain Skeletal muscle. My recent science based studies show that it is best to wait 1 hr after waking before consuming any sugar or carbohydrates other wise it will spike blood sugar levels. Also not to eat anything 2 hrs before bedtime otherwise u will need snother2 hrs sleep to enable food to digest . By the way I do follow aruyvedic principles and consume ash gourd juice every late morning with a little honey Best of health everyone ☺️

Breakfast fast means breaking the fast, when ever it is, since they have asked us to have food only 2 times in a day we must understand this as brunch and early dinner

I had one query, can we take anything like fruits in the morning at around 9 am, lunch at 11am, fruits at around 4pm, dinner at 7pm. .would it still be considered intermittent fasting

Eating fruits is not counted as a meal. So it’s ok. But make sure you eat fruits always before meals and not after eating

Dear Dr. Aravind, how about if I have a predominately vata prakriti? I’ve tried 2 meals a day in the past, but I started feeling pretty weak after doing it for two weeks or so. Perhaps my timings or the quantity was wrong…in some of my Ayurveda books, it even suggests up to five times a day (including snacks). What would you suggest to a vata prakriti person who is trying to eat just two meals a day? Also, eating either two or three meals a day affects my menstrual cycle and blood flow.

You can consume nuts along with fruits for breakfast. Add lots of ghee and paneer and cold pressed oils in your diet. And eat plz consult an Ayurvedic doctor for a detailed diet chart because a lot more data about your health and body type has to be taken in to consideration before guiding you further

@@AyurshiAyurveda thank you for your reply! I’ve tried soaked nuts and fruits for breakfast, but i feel quite spaced out, unless I eat proper cooked grains like wheat or rice based dish. Also I think my already cold prakriti, combined with the cold climate, and consuming fruits that’s also cool in nature zaps up my agni, leading to further vata aggravation!

For vata Dosha we can add 1 table spoon of ghee or virgin coconut oil on empty stomach followed by hot water .. rest all is fine

Nimesh Ahir if pitta people are able to eat 2 heavy means and manage well, yes they can. But if they not able to withhold their appetite then they can eat 3 times. But it must be real hunger. And they must not be obese
