Not blaming you guys. You like many others are used to stylish fight/ stunt scenes with fancy VFX work. But not everyone has indulged in real fights which are raw, grounded and some are even lethal(even without the presence of weapons). This is an example of how natural fights happen here. You guys also missed many small fighting techniques used here. These are very well present in Adimura (a martial art in Thamizhnaad and southern Kerala). It's not always about punches and roundhouse kicks. There are many other ways to do away with ones opponent. Specific locking techniques and pressure point attacks etc. At 6:29 you saw a typical lock we use in Adimura. The opponent would suffocate to death, and if added some more pressure, the ribs would break and pierce through the lungs - also death. But what you saw here is the basic technique. There are advanced variations where the opponent would never be able to move and would be dead with in minutes. I did it to a guy back in school and he still has breathing issues. His lungs won't expand like it normally does.

Guys come on.. I think you guys should know by now that the craft of movies made in malayalam is with the intention of Realistic and grounded. Hardly any scenes in this movie an individual can question about the logic and physics behind it. A fight that can actually happen, a movie that told the perfect & relatable story of an Indian for this 1 and only final fight. Where there is no winners even if u feel that you need to back 1 person. At the end of the day, we also get the feeling that non of them should fail in this fight as well. It seems like you will like the Telegu version of this movie which was over the top with stunt, vfx, goons, bombing etc etc....

Watching a small part of the movie and judging it is wrong? In this scene, it's not important how they fight, well actually, in real people fight like this, I have never seen a real street fight where people pull out Bruce Lee. Anyhow this scene has a lot of emotions backed by the two characters, when you know the reasons why they fighting, then only this will seem interesting.

I've been following you guys from the beginning and love most of what you guys usually do here. I know this video is from a year ago but since you decided to actually upload it, I have to say it was a bad idea to watch just this climax fight scene! With all due respect, it was a Cringe reaction video, guys! Should have stayed blocked! 😞 Knowing nothing about the movie and judging this is not fair! You guys should have watched the movie and understood what led to this fight! This was raw action! Not the flashy flying-in-the-air VFX mixed action! And it had nothing to do with the budget at all! "Ayyappanum Koshiyum" won four top awards at the 68th National Film Awards. Of the four awards, one was a posthumous Best Director award to Sachi as he passed away. The second one was for the actor Biju Menon as Best Supporting Actor, who you called an old man but who isn't actually that old! LOL! The third was for a folk singer. The fourth award for the film went to Rajasekhar, Mafia Sasi, and Supreme Sunder for "stunt choreography." I'm sure they don't just blindly give out National Awards if they didn't think the fights were that good, right? A little homework does help at times, guys! 🙂

This is more of a realistic fight in streets between two normal people not cinematic.The film is worth a watch, a ego tussle between two individuals. It is also remade in Telugu with more masala elements.

If u had watched the movie from the very beginning you'd root for one of them and the fight would've felt really awesome...Maheshinte prathikaram fight scene is another example where , there's no lethal weapon or Anti gravity stunts.. we like it real... realistic movies are whole new level

If you create VFX and artificial fancy stunt work, the realistic aspect of action in an act wld go away. This fight scene is not that level realistic but atleast showed to be realistic. the fight scene in film is all about rawness of the characters in life not trained stunt characters....lol...this is how realistic a fight scene wld be in a real life.(even though this fight did not match that realistic but attempted.) Indian fights in streets are not american box around street fights....its more of random closed fist swings, open hand slaps and more of wrestling and stomping feet.

This fight is an culmination of the entire film. To enjoy this in it's fullest you need to watch this film. And in this film, the characters are not trained fighters. This fight comes as a part of two people's ego rivalry. Its raw as real. It would have been adrenaline pumping and intense if you've seen the rest of the film along with it.

Brilliant film. In the very first sequence itself it becomes clear that everyone the writers directors actors all have perfect contribution to a great work of cinema. This is not a low budget movie. This has the best actors in the industry but the atmosphere of the movie is extreme realism. Unsurprisingly Bollywood wanted to desperately make a remake but eventually gave up because they they could never match this. This movie is LOVELY

The story is of the ego fight between two people.. They do insane things in this film to one up the other and then tension thus rises in the end and people were excited for the face to face fight for that reason.... Yes agreed the fight was not breathtaking coz it is a realistic movie

One suggestion, watch the movie to understand what's the context of the fight. It's a fight between two arrogant yet normal life people. You cannot have it stylised and with stunt people. We were tired of watching these stylised action scenes which never really happens in real life and were placed oddly in almost all the movies but that is where Ayyappanum Koshiyum stood apart. They had logical reasoning to almost everything happening and it stayed raw and honest till the end. I know both of you have come along way in understanding Indian culture and cinema, so if you are putting out videos from past, please ensure it doesn't take your quality years back too. Disappointed with this one.

You missed the point here as you have done before. Probably because you are seeing the scene out of context. This is not an action movie where the objective is to show great stunts using skilled people and VFX and so on. The whole movie is about an emotional conflict and rivalry between equal adversaries/enemies. This physical conflict is just a part of it and is shown as it would happen between real, relatively ordinary people, who are not trained fighters.but are equally fearlessly determined to defeat the other.
