Olafur Eliasson “A harmonious cycle of interconnected nows”, 2023 These four successive sculptures follow the twisting, moving trajectory of a single point to express the movement found in all things. They represent the movement of everything: people in action, centripetal forces and free-moving dancing. The spiral sculptures seem to interrelate and harmonize with other elements in the space, including the windows and columns. These progressively complex forms were inspired by the Lissajous curve, which represents vibration and from which they have been transformed into dynamic three-dimensional forms. A close look reveals that the overall composition is a series of numerous dodecahedrons comprising rhomboids, kite shapes, and triangles. Based on Studio Olafur Eliasson's long-standing research into geometric forms and conceptual questions about geological time, this is his first work to incorporate recycled metal.
