If your pads are worn uneven. Outside pad looks new, inside pad gone means the guide pins on the caliper are not sliding letting it apply pressure evenly. Take them out, clean them sand them and re grease them.they should ALWAYS wear out evenly. Hope rate pick up! We are struggling here in California

Wall-e87, exactly what I was going to say. Just grab the pins at the ends of the caliper bracket and see if they move or not. Also check your rubber boots for cracks and pin holes. This is normally what causes them to seize up. They will let moisture in and cause rust. Make sure the seal around where the boots seat are also nice and clean. Use a good quality synthetic brake lube, and make sure to burp the pin boots. When you put new lube and pins if needed it can trap air inside the boot. The easy way to get the air out is to use a small pick or a small screwdriver to lift the boot up as the pin is pushed in.

Guide pins, or possibly a bad caliper or hose. If caliper, retracted easily...probably slides, or pins. Good luck, and prayers, for All you guys

@@JustTruckin I use ceramic brake pads on my wife's Postal Jeep. Plus a little beefier rotors. She has 320 stops everyday 5 days a week. Never have problem.

Nice piece of mind to get the brakes done and the load was a little disappointing but something is better than nothing!!!! And now you’ve got the ubering for a little backup feeding the family!!! Great video showing how to do brakes on the Escalade you should do a video of a pre-trip and how to properly hook tractor to trailer for all those that do t know and show how much your rig weighs so when people cut off semi’s they realize they dont stop like a car

With one pad worn more than the another, you may want to check the caliper guide pins.

I make it a point on every brake job to clean and lube the slider pins. Years ago before I started doing my own brakes when the shop I used didn't clean the slider pins and I had one lock up on my wife's car. It destroyed the rotor and pads. Also the 1st time I did my own I made the mistake of using to much grease which caused uneven wear on the pads.

You don't have to replace the caliper if you step on it... but you do have to rebuild the cylinders... I've had to replace the seals once on an older car. Not hard unless you don't have the tools (my father had the experience and tools.) Good luck on the loads!

Hi Justin. I looked up the uneven wear on the pads. I found that it could be the pins are stuck. It looks like it could be the one(s) that you removed. I am surprised that the Escalade was not pulling to one side while braking. Have good days!

Justin, you've been trucking much longer than I have, so you know a lot more than I do: As for that orange truck backing in (who was worried about his swing), I've found it easier to overshoot the spot (stopping well before hitting the other truck), then doing a pull-up, and then you can find your truck and trailer at a much straighter angle to easily back in.

On the detention, why not send a letter before action? I'm sure you could find a suitable template that fits the requirements of your state online somewhere. And if you do have to follow through by launching legal proceedings, make sure you add interest from the due date at the maximum rate allowed by state law and the filing fee (which is usually not much) plus any expenses for your time in preparing the case (anything up to what a decent lawyer would charge) and any working time lost and travel expenses incurred by attending any hearing. Most cases are decided on the nod though, so it is unlikely that you would have to attend if you prepare a decent case. But usually, just the letter before action gets their backsides into gear - having a court judgement for non-payment against them will cost them several times that in lost credit ratings and higher interest rates (and will hurt them badly in the trucker ratings, too. Clearly, they do not want to risk that (or would be bonkers if they did).

Sticky kid finger prints on air cleaner good times. Not having to take off whole caliper to change pads is a great idea! I always took the caliper off and hung it from coil spring or shock 🤔

Small world dude. Heard u mention Greenville. Downtown Greenville is pretty cool along the river. I used to live there for a few years back when I worked for a General Contractor based out of Atlanta. We built the Residence Inn off woodruff Road back in 2018. I decided to give construction a break a few years ago and got my CDL. Been driving for 8 months in the 11 western states. I love it so far. Less stressful than construction. Still learning a lot about trucking industry while I let Jesus take the wheel. Watching your videos for tips help

You don't have to use a lumper. Back when I was an O/O I would unload roll offs myself & bill for the lumper fee. At docks where drivers hired lumpers before entering the receiver ( yes it was a thing), I would unload other trucks easer then mine & bill their companies ( no fingerprinting ) and use a lumper on my load. All you need is an EIN#

Hi, I am not a professional mechanic, but from my own experience, the uneven pressure applied to you pads may be due to sticking slide pins. Please purchase some appropriate lubricant from the parts store, remove them, wipe off the old lubricant and put new lubricant on and repeat on the second one. Thanks for all the great entertainment.

the brake slider pins need to be cleaned and lubed. Caliper is sticking and that's causing the uneven wear, rotors look like they could use a good turning should be nice and smooth not ribbed like they are looking, loosing braking power. Chevy/ gmc famous for sticking pins.

You should sand where the caliper slides on the bracket and also sand the bracket and then put a light amount high temp Grease on the caliper slides and on the bracket slides so that way the calipers will slide easier. Then also pulled off the slide pins wipe them off and put a little bit of new high temp grease when you put it back on

Them rotors should be replaced they glazed and look like a record player. Any time you replace pads you either cut or replace rotors. And all the hardware cleaned and lubricated caliper check for sticking piston or caliper slides.

the wear indicators can wear a grove into the rotors, if you run them after they start to sound off to much.

One piece of advice, if only that one inner pad was thin, I'd check for a sticking caliper the pads should ALWAYS wear even. Pistons might be sticking or slid pins might be binding up.

You talk about the cost of fuel. I fueled up today up in North Vancouver bc Canada. and it cost me 1.72 a litre and there talking about our fuel going up above 2$ a litre. So that’s about 4.85 a gallon. So I think your doing ok. And diesel is 2.19cad or 1.63 a litre usd so that’s 6.18 usd a gallon.

The best thing you can do is go on-line and do all the practice test you can. 95% of the test questions were the same as the on line test. GOOD LUCK!!

Rotors specs are a lot of times are stamped onto them but you need a pair of calipers to get a reading on them a tape won't work..but glade you do your own work
