It's not reggae, it's new york slang which is influenced by Caribbean accent and culture as in London which is why people thought Banks is British. Her voice style here is classic House mixed with rap, and neo soul. Back in the 90s, black vocals over House edm like La Bouche "Wanna Be My Lover" Crystal Waters "Gypsy" Mark "Return of the Mac" Fatboy Slim "Song for Shelter" and Haddaway "What Is Love" was the thing and she radiates that throwback NYC culture, juxtaposed with modern hip hop. She really is iconic for this like it or not right? However I agree that she switched between several genres and ranges.

The reason the general public hasn't embraced Azealia is cuz she brings a brash sense honesty and rudeness that people just can't get down with. It's fun and confident. She's not afraid to be aggressive and her lyrics aren't easily digested because they're more thought out and clever. Just shut the fuck up about looks or numbers of hits and enjoy the music. This shit blastin in a club is the best.

While I agree with your overall point, Ryan, I do think she'd get way less flak, and possibly be embraced by the mainstream a la Kanye, if she were a man. She's a genius, but the American public prefers their women a lot more comatose.

This chick is the real deal, I think. Like Bjork, Jack White, Brian Eno, Q-tip. She's bat shit crazy and incredibly creative. She's ahead of her time and making a new sub genre of hip-hop. She has said some stupid sh*t but who cares. Her music contribution is still incredibly important. The thing with Iggy is pointless, it's not iggys fault she was nominated for a Grammy (even though A. Banks is clearly the better artist). Kanye is a genius mixer but he can't spit like Jay z or this chick...In fact he's pretty terrible at verse. I do love a lot of his tracks, though.

Not they music lol, umm artists like eazy mac, calvin scruby, NF, glass animals, post malone, all edm dance music really, missio, grandson, itsoktocry, Maryliyn manson.. Saint jhn, billie eilish, anyone who refuses to follow their step by step how to be famous crap.. Its all tied in and it all relates back to kurt cobain.. Trust me i know how this sounds but.. Man. He and courtney had their kid taken at 2 weeks old for lies about her being on drugs while pregnant they fought it and got her back their way and now hes dead.. My child was recently taken for the same lies. I also live under a bridge currently like he did when he wrote something in the way. I didnt know any of this until i was already living all the same things.. Found all this between 1030 pm and 12 36 am on feb 20th 2020.. At 1236 am os when i was shocked to find out his birthday.. I thought her image was fake and how she expressed herself on Twitter was so over the top. After watching her interview and getting to see her being vocal in a more personal environment was refreshing. People are different in person than on paper (in this case 120 characters on Twitter) I've been watching her videos and I'm kind of a fan now, lol! I respect her and her opinions.
